YaY Ottawa That’s my city!May 25, 2012 at 10:27 am #27533
I have sort of a tangent story to distracting yourself from problems. I “misplaced” my cell phone last summer in Barcelona and I was freaking out about getting it back and losing all my (really important) numbers the whole next day. I mean, I was having fun, but it was always in the back or middle of my mind. UNTIL I went to a bullfight. I know this is terrible, but that bull fight was the first time the whole day that being stressed about my phone wasn’t remotely on my mind.
I can understand why gladiator fights and fucked up stuff like that was so popular in the ancient times (when everyones life was filled with so much death and disease and suffering) because that kind of thing, that violence and intensity and life or death situation, REALLY gets your mind off your own problems.
I’m not suggesting everyone going through a breakup gets into cockfighting or something, just observing lolMay 25, 2012 at 12:03 pm #27544
a little about me
my real name is Isabelle. im 17, my birthday is in June!!! i have two older sisters, one is 5 years older than i am, and the other is 11 months older than me. im Canadaian, live in the middle of nowhere in northen ontario. i have a big family, my dad had 7 sisters and 5 brothers , and my mom has 2 brothers and a sister. most of my first cousins are in there 30s… i think i only have two cousins that are near my age, and one who is younger than me.
im 5″2ish and weigh around 135lbs
i love animals (not rats and mice and snakes… ewww)
i love to drive fast, four-wheeler, snowmobiles, cars….
shoes are awesome, just need to have money to buy some
WANT TO TRAVEL EVERYWHERE, possibly would like to live everywhere for maybe a year to three years if possible. so im trying to get a career that i will love and get to travel!!!!May 26, 2012 at 5:53 pm #27643
I think I finally got the SO to stop bringing electronics to the bathroom with him. He dropped his cell phone in the toilet while peeing. Seriously, do you need to text while peeing? Fucking ridiculous. He cannot be in the bathroom without an e-reader, tablet pc, cell phone or hand-held video game. But, with a cell phone ruined (by the water in the toilet, plus pissed on), he has finally learned his lesson (or so he says).May 26, 2012 at 5:59 pm #27644
I am in Oregon meeting my friends baby. She is the first of my highschool friends to have a baby so it is very special. I love babies. That aren’t mine.May 26, 2012 at 7:33 pm #27654
My real name is Amelia. I’m 28, my birthday is in September. I’m a little weirded out about turning 29.
I’m American but I live in Austria now. I’d like to live in some other countries for a few years each, but I’m 90% sure the homebase will always be Austria. @Isabelle if you want to travel you should look into teaching English after college if you don’t get a chance to do a study abroad. Or, better yet, both. The kinds of careers that have a lot of international travel are very random! But they are definitely out there, you don’t have to major in international business to get a job that requires you to be all over the world.
I’m the youngest in my entire extended family so I have NO idea what to do with kids and babies.
I’m 5’9 and last time i weighed myself was in dec and I was 121, but i was very stressed out at that time and I think I weigh closer to 130 now. I’m tall so 10 lbs doesn’t make much of a difference.
i love animals too. im terrified of spiders but I still can’t kill them. I actually spent 10 minutes getting a spider out of my apartment this morning using the glass and paper trick, and I was shaking the whole time! The poor spider looked more scared, im really glad i didnt kill him.
I love driving, but I’m really on the fence about whether getting a car would be worth the expense. My boyfriend has a car already and I can take PT everywhere I go… but driving is just SO NICE. I want a Smart car.
i can tell in another 2 or 3 years I’m going to want a baby really bad. I can feel the desire creeping up on me!
And my boyfriend is on a long business trip and I am super lonely and bored without him! it sucks!May 28, 2012 at 9:41 am #27757
im not a very patient person, so when everyone tells me eveything will get better with time, it just makes it more unbearable lol. i really need to focus on my school right now, but all i want to do is be around people, to have at least someone i can talk to all day, via text helps a lot. i spend most of my time infront of the tv recently, the time goes by quicker and im always around people XD haha lol, i guess the people on television dont really count, but it makes me less lonely if that makes any sense.
i just cant get motivated to do my homework!! i kind of wish he broke up with me after i was done my school work so i could at least have that motivate me to do it. haha that sounds horrible lol. i think i need a distract free zone to do my homework, but libraries close early and i dont have school time to do my work
any ideas for me to kick myself in the butt to do my work??May 28, 2012 at 10:18 am #27761
When I was in college and seriously lacking motivation, sometimes I broke my school work up into little sections and gave myself little incentives to finish each assignment. It made it easier to do than busting out 4 hours straight of homework (which I had no choice but to do sometimes due to lack of time). For me, it was like “When I finish this paper, I will take a half hour off to watch TV and have a beer.” Since you’re only 17, choose whatever gives you the most enjoyment.May 28, 2012 at 11:09 am #27770
i only have 10 lessons left to do for my english, each lesson has key questions, usually 5-6 key questions. each lesson takes me about 4hrs to finish but if i did a lesson a day, i would be done in ten days! i like watching tv and doing nothing too much lol i need to get it done! ill try to cut them up. its just the only time i can work on it is basically from 4pm-10pm ish. i need to kick myself in the arseMay 29, 2012 at 3:10 pm #27962
I live in Scotland (Glasgow) with a greyhound named Jack. I love almost animals, particularly dogs, birds and sea creatures. Jack used to be a nervous wreck (he was adopted from Ireland, which lacks many of Scotland’s animal welfare laws, and was treated pretty badly), but now he’s a very happy dog with an enormous appetiteMay 29, 2012 at 3:34 pm #27967
Isabelle — give yourself two options: you will either do your school work or you’ll work out. you don’t get another option. TV is not an option. Neither is doing nothing. Pick your poison — study or work out.
Let me tell you, I was in the best shape I’d been in years when I was studying for the bar. If you choose work out, you feel great and you are way more inclined to study afterward. If you chose study, then you just studied and can reward yourself with an episode. But at 4 pm, you have only two options. Choose one.
