if i ever win the lottery, i’m finding someone to take me shopping and dress/style me. i cant decide on my own most of the time, you can never tell if salespeople are being truthful or just want the sale! my fiance is honest, but he gets irritated when he shops with me lol
January 25, 2012 at 2:52 pm #9379I hate clothes shopping. I have to get some new jeans. My body is just not easy to shop for either. I have a long torso, wide waist, large thighs (comes with all the hiking/biking I did in my younger years), and a huge chest to top it all off. My hips aren’t huge, but then again, if I buy to fit my hips, the waist is too small, if I buy to fit my waist, the hips are too big, so I have to buy something that is somewhat low-cut, and hope it’s not too lowcut and doesn’t show off my butt crack. It has to stretch because of my weight fluctuations, and I can never find a belt either. Well, one that works. If I wear one, it goes around my midsection, which is bad because then it just divides the pudge of pregnancy past rather than my sturdy hips.
January 25, 2012 at 2:55 pm #9381AK, I hear you!
I have a broad back, no chest to speak of (even breastfeeding it reamins around 90 cm), small waist, wide hips, no butt, and long skinny legs.
It´s a nightmare!!! Of course the assorted bumps, and rolls don´t help. Granted theypre quite small thankfully, but they´re still there!!!January 25, 2012 at 7:12 pm #9450A blazer is a great idea! In my opinion, when you’re going very slim on the bottom, it’s best to put some volume up top, like ruffles or just a flowing fabric…

January 25, 2012 at 8:10 pm #9453I have belly issues too, and my go-to look is the sweater set. The kind that can be worn either open or with one button across the chest area. It’s a little school-marm-ish/preppy-ish, but it’s cute and comfortable. I tried blazers (which are also a great look), but I’m really unfashionable, and they just make me feel like I’m wearing someone else’s clothes, which makes me feel like everyone’s staring at me, thinking “dude. that chick’s totally wearing someone else’s clothes.” I also like peasant-style blouses that have an elastic low on the waist/hip area (this style http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/MICHAEL-Michael-Kors-Womens-Peasant-Blouse/3906235/product.html). They do a good job of camouflaging tummy-pooch.
January 26, 2012 at 3:33 pm #9608well.. i think i found a nice black shirt that might work.. but i’m also going to look into that waist minimizer, and see if my tummy can handle it for a short night out. i even tried on the sweater dress i bought at christmas, and i think if the waist minimizer works, i may wear it!
January 26, 2012 at 10:40 pm #9664I second what Addie Pray said about white v-necks and blazers. Another thing I find goes with a lot are long-ish black cardigans. And you can totally wear tall boots with a dress. Don’t feel like the boots need to meet the bottom of the dress either–they will look great anyway.
January 27, 2012 at 3:10 am #9677so, in a fashion thread i just wanted to get some credit because i bought (after being persuaded by the very nice sales lady and my boyfriend) my first pair of “skinny” jeans and boots to go with them. i have never owned either in my life. i am like you, michelle, and i just wear the same kinds of things over and over and now i have been told it has to stop! haha. i may be wearing them this weekend…. but i will confess i am scared to.
January 27, 2012 at 8:59 am #9691-I second AddiePray on the white v-neck shirt and blazer. I live in high quality white t’s.
-My other recomendation is to make sure you’re a little more covered up on top, when you wear sexier boots (which IMO over the knee would fall into). That way you look sexy and classy.
January 27, 2012 at 9:39 am #9696katie: my first pair of skinny jeans were bought this year too! I have chicken legs, so i tried to stay away from them, thinking it would just accentuate them, but they actually look quite nice with flats during the summer!
January 27, 2012 at 9:46 am #9697I’m at work in skinny jeans… and a blazer, ha! Though, I wore jeans yesterday too, oops.
January 27, 2012 at 9:48 am #9698i need to get flat boots to wear during the cold weater since i cant wear my flats with them
so i’m in flared leg jeans lol.. but, always jeans.
January 27, 2012 at 9:58 am #9699I wear flats in the office. It’s so damn hot up in here for boots. I don’t know WHAT I’m going to do when I go through menopause – I’m always, always hot as it is.
January 27, 2012 at 10:00 am #9700I’ve barely turned the heat on all winter. (In Chicago.) And in the summer time, I can’t get the AC high enough for my liking. Waa, waa, waaa. I’m in a shitty mood today. Not because I’m hot. But because men suck monkey balls, but that’s for another day.
January 27, 2012 at 10:02 am #9701i could never do heels at work, i work in a print shop. up and down stairs all day, zipping through the plant, i’d kill myself if i was in heels!
