Happy Independence Day!!

So it’s the 4th of July again. I’ve been celebrating my independence a lot lately so it’s a very fitting holiday! And as always, I’m so proud to be an American and thankful to the veterans who fought for our country. So what’s everyone up to today? If you’re off work, you are lucky. I’m at work until 10 am and then I have to come back to work at 11 tonight. I really wish my place of employment closed on holidays and weekends. During my brief 13 hours off in between shifts, I plan to drink some wine, grill some turkey sausages, shoot a few bottle rockets off my porch, and take a nap because I have to. And DW of course!

Happy 4th! When I was little my neighborhood used to have a parade and all the kids decorated their bikes and biked in the parade. That was, like, the biggest deal ever! But without that the 4th is never as fun for me. Today I plan to help my mother take a bath and not get her cast wet. We may go watch the city’s fireworks from my roof but it’s ridiculously hot out there and I don’t think my mom will enjoy that. My other plans today include refreshing DW over and over again.

Back to the 4th: Remember those rocket popsicles? I used to be covered in red, white, and blue slush that had melted all over my face and hands and down my arms.

AP, you should have your own parade reminiscent of childhood! Do you have a bicycle now? Decorate it, drink some red wine, and then ride around the city! Invite any crazy ass friends you have to join you.

Happy Birthday Trixy! And in answer to your question, JK, because some companies SUCK. Mine is open every day of the year 24/7. I really don’t understand why. We don’t have a time limit on claim filing so why do we have to be here on holidays to take claims?

happy 4th! I can’t wait for the fireworks tonight because fireworks are my favorite! When I was little I thought that the fireworks were for me (my town always does them on the 3rd since the city does it on the fourth) because my birthday is on the 3rd, so I just assumed they were for me since obviously I was that important.

Fireworks in Colorado are cancelled because the whole state is on fire. So that’s really put a damper on my excitement. But I’m getting ready to go to the pool. Hopefully do some work while I’m there. Then later today we’re going to see Ted. Then relaxing tonight because I have to work tomorrow. There will obviously be drinking mixed in with all these activities.

Oh and I forgot to say that both Ethan and I have Friday off so the majority of our celebrating will be done Friday and this weekend. The monster in law is back in town from her month long stay in Vail so I’m going to go over and drink all her booze and float in her pool all weekend. Oh and start using her gym pass again that she cancelled.
