Alright, everyone, so I recently got a promotion and I now work normal hours. Also, I just got cable on saturday, and so i am pretty excited to start watching all the TV you all talk about on here.
so, suggestions? i dont know if i could jump right into a lot of the series that have been going on for many seasons now, not knowing any of the stories. and also, i have no idea what day and time anything is on, and if i dont know, ill forget to watch it. and also, i have basic cable, not like HBO or something.
May 21, 2012 at 1:16 pm #27011What kind of show do you usually like?
May 21, 2012 at 2:39 pm #27031i like the crime ones, like criminal minds, and then comedys. but i would love to start watching whatever is good- i dont even know what is out there! lol
May 21, 2012 at 2:43 pm #27033Here we´re a bit behind on series. Ones I´m loving at the moment are Once Upon a Time, and Revenge (Revenge is AWESOME), you could probably find the older episodes somewhere to catch up.
Comedies I like are Big Bang Theory, and Parks and Rec.
I have no idea what channels show them in the US though.May 21, 2012 at 6:56 pm #27065Girl I got you!
Okay so I’m hoping cable includes ondemand. If so I HIGHLY recommend you get caught up in the following shows: mad men, the good wife, and parenthood. Those are probably my three favorites right now. You can rent earlier seasons for pretty cheaply – or for the case of good wife and parenthood you can get free episodes online (CBS and NBC).

May 21, 2012 at 7:10 pm #27068I also LOVE Parenthood and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. It’s probably my all time favorite show on these days.
May 21, 2012 at 9:19 pm #27078I really loved The Good Wife back in the day but now I get bored with it, I’m not sure why.
My favorites are: Mad Men, New Girl, and Girls! But Girls is HBO.
May 21, 2012 at 10:38 pm #27083If you have BBC(America), the Graham Norton Show can be good to watch on occasion. I love catching reruns of the X-Files when I can’t sleep, and sometimes they switch it up with Torchwood or Doctor Who reruns. I’m waiting for new episodes of Doctor Who. They also have a new show called The Fades that is good.
SyFy channel shows to watch: Eureka (the final season is playing on Mondays now), and in the summer/fall, they have Warehouse 13 and Alphas. In the fall/winter I like Being Human and Haven.
For pure cheese-factor, paranormal stuff and new takes on religion, Supernatural is always a good bet.Of course, you can never go wrong with Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI, and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.
May 22, 2012 at 6:19 pm #27159I remembered another one that I love (that I just saw the season finale yesterday) Homeland (with Claire Danes).
May 29, 2012 at 10:43 am #27869i second Big Bang Theory. i missed all the seasons as we just went to ‘normal’ cable for awhile.. and it’s a show you can watch and it doesnt matter if you’ve missed several seasons lol.. i love it!
May 29, 2012 at 10:51 am #27873ah, i have started watching mad men and i love it!! and, my boyfriend likes it a lot too.. i was really surprised about it. i thought he wouldnt like it, but he is way into it to so we have been watching it. i think were up to the 6th episode now.

i also just saw community for the first time this weekend, and i liked that one too.
