My honey and I live 100 miles north of San Francisco in the very small town of Redwood Valley. This is wine country and very hospitable to visitors. Napa is 60 miles to the south and known for B&Bs and wine tasting. It’s easy to get to the Bay Area and we do several times a year.

Dam, 3 degrees and I still can’t spell…or notice spell check flags. It’s not age I’ve always been like this. LOL

Just follow your nose up 101 past Ukiah to Redwood Valley. 2 bars, a gas station and a grocery store but one dam fine steak house that you’ll not find any that’s better. ‘The Broiler’ is just off Uva Dr. exit. That will take you to the other side of the valley away from Jim Jones’s old church that’s now a polling place sometimes. The Black Bart parade in July always gets a good turn out with food and drink at the Lyons Club Park just down the hill from our pea patch. For a while Sea Biscuit’s great, great,great, great granddaughter was stabled a few door up the rode. Visitors are always welcome.

Long-time reader here. I’ve never commented though on any posts. I live in Napa. Haha, it’s sort of weird to see people rave about Napa. I guess since I have lived here from age 6, it doesn’t seem so great. I like SF a lot. Just hate driving around there!

@Cran–It is weird when people rave about Napa, but that’s just cuz out-of-towners never differentiate between the city of Napa, and the Napa Valley. Then again, when surrounding towns have a population of 71 (I’m looking at you, Oakville!), I guess I can forgive it.

Hey, I’m in SF too! And my uncle and cousins live in Napa. It’s funny, I’ve always thought of Napa as “where Uncle Daniel lives.” I’ve gone up there more times for family functions than anything else! My cousin got married recently at an amazingly gorgeous private vineyard, kind of near the Napa Valley Country Club. And my other cousin works at Auberge du Soleil, but that’s actually in Rutherford…

This is way far in advance but I’m coming to SF in August to visit friends (and for Outside Lands). Probably August 6th or 7th to the 13th. I’ll be touring myself around during the days for the most part since my friends will be at work so if anyone is up for meeting up for a lunch or something, it’d be awesome!

Whoops I missed this! Booked my flights today so it’s definitely a go..I’ll be there from Aug. 6th til the evening of the 12th so once the dates get closer we should definitely plan something for an evening!

If I’m remembering correctly, you’re an architect too right? I want to pick your brain for architecture to check out besides the typical tourist spots.
