I can’t do Barrel Oak, it’s approximately on the other end of the world. I’d love to go, but I think it might be better if we do Arlington/Alexandria if we’re staying on the NoVA side of things.

Could compromise and have a picnic at a park somewhere in Nova and everyone bring a bottle of wine? Then we could meet the puppy!

I think a picnic sounds like a great relaxing idea.

Picnic sounds nice, weather-dependent of course. (It’s freaking cold today! I’m wearing rights and a blazer.)

Hopefully we’ll be back to spring by then! A picnic sounds fun and easy, plus I’ve got a cupcake recipe I’m dying to try. You guys can be my guinea pigs.

A park is a cool idea, but no promises that I can bring the puppy! She’s still being trained, and I know that she’d struggle to behave herslef with that many new people and sights and smells to explore! She’d be diving for the food, not to mention all of the grass, mulch, rocks…sigh, haha. Anyone know of any good parks in NOVA?

The only park that I can recall going to close-ish to the city is Great Falls Park and here’s a link for it. http://www.nps.gov/grfa/planyourvisit/directions.htm I’m not married to going here of course but it’s the only one I’m aware of in the DC area. I’m sure there are others around too. I know out where I’m at in manassas there are a bunch of parks (Bull Run being first to come to mind).

So has anyone looked up any other parks? Also what time would you guys be up for having the meetup? I can see meeting around 12-1 ish for lunch as being the better option.

Update: Looks like the weather decided to turn nasty this weekend. Calling for rain and scatter thunderstorms all weekend. Would you guys like to meet up for drinks or something like bowling instead?

Hey Guys — So Sunday no longer looks fantastic to me, because I have an interview with a family I’m interested in nannying for.

I’d totally be down, though, to set up my own “Reston Area” meet up in a few weeks. Would any of you be able to come out to Reston for drinks or anything? I think it’s a pretty central location, but I may be biased!

Reston isn’t too far for me. I won’t be avalable during week nights starting May and I’ll be out of town May 14-17.

I work in Fairfax, so I could do Reston easily during the week. Even on the weekends it’s not that bad a trip from Alexandria.

I can’t do weeknights in Reston but I could the weekends. I’m moving May 19th and will be out of town the 24th through 28th.

The dance company I perform with is hosting a fundraiser/dance party on May 11. You’re all invited!!

I have to help setup for the event but if other people are free, you could possibly turn this into a meetup – maybe have dinner or drinks before and then head over to the party. Or just go with a group of friends.
