Now that I know we have a whopping 4 members who live in this area, I want to schedule a meetup! It would definitely help me with everything I’m going through. So…Gillociraptor, chemE, and Kristen…when and where? If there are any other NE Ohioans here, feel free to speak up!
I am usually off work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with the exception of next weekend. It would have to be a night I’m off since I work 3rd shift. As for where, I am open to suggestions.
I have half-days at work most Fridays, so those would be the best days for me; however, since I work at a college and we’re on summer break, I have a little bit more leeway with my schedule than I would during the school year.
Whereabouts do you live, Anna? Don’t feel compelled to give too much away, obviously, but coming up with a central location might be the best idea.

I just sent you a friend request. I currently live in Ravenna, about 30 min from Akron. And Fridays are great for me, with the exception of May 18 because I am helping a friend by trading shifts at work.

My dad used to live in Diamond, and we went to the scary Southern Baptist church on 14 in Ravenna. Portage Community Chapel. Down the road from the McDonald’s. Small, small world.
I know a lot of fun/cool places in Akron, because I went to school there, but it’s closer to everyone else than it would be to you.
I’m usually free most evenings and weekends since I’ve got my “big girl” job. I do have a camping trip scheduled over the holiday weekend, and a fishing/boating trip next Saturday, but otherwise I think I’m open.

Somewhere in Akron is fine with me. It’s not that long a drive, and there is absolutely NOTHING cool to do in Ravenna area. Well, except hang out at my house and drink and BS…but I wouldn’t host a first-time meet-up at my house. What are your ideas of good places to go in Akron?
It seems that Fridays are working for most everyone…just haven’t heard from Kristen.
My schedule is crazy the next couple of weeks. I think the next Friday I’m free is June 1. I could also potentially do either Thursday, May 24, or the 30th or 31st.
We could always go to Lockview. It’s a bar/restaurant in downtown Akron that has 10 different kinds of grilled cheese (plus a ton of other delicious stuff and drinks). Other ideas?
Lockview is my FAVORITE. My husband and I had our first date there (and ate there after we had our courthouse wedding). And there are other bars nearby if it’s crazy (which can happen on a Friday).
June 1st would be fine with me! And Lockview sounds awesome! It sounds kinda like Melt Bar and Grilled, one of my favorite spots in Cleveland. I love grilled cheese and alcohol.
If everyone agrees, we can settle on June 1st at about 6 or 7 pm? Whatever is best for everyone.
I’ve never been there, I will have to look it up. I think June 1 works for me too.
@gill That’s so cool! We love it there too. And if it’s warm, we could always go up on the rooftop patio (there’s a bar set up up there, too!).
Is everyone still in for this Friday evening? And what time works best for everyone?

I’m still free I think, however my doctor confirmed “a pink eye” this morning, so I don’t know if I should attend. I might be cleared up by then and be totally fine, but I have to wait and see I think.
Ok, let us know. I’m not driving to Akron if no one else is showing up!
