Yo, yo, yo. It’s like 102 degrees here today and both Jack and I have colds, so to say my brain is working slowly this week is an understatement. I need your help! Please give me some good ideas for open thread topics.
p.s. There are currently five burp cloths-turned- snot rags on the sofa. This is gross.
June 21, 2012 at 2:04 pm #30995I can´t think of any topics at the moment, I just wanted to recommend going into the bathroom with Jack, and opening the shower as hot as it will go (go in armed with toys, books, etc),the steam will loosen up the snot in no time.
And I sympathize, the girls and I also have colds this week. I hate winter.June 21, 2012 at 2:04 pm #30999Get well soon Wendy and Jack!!
As it’s the first weekend of summer, what about a thread about favorite (or least favorite) summer activities? Or best/worst summer story?
June 21, 2012 at 2:05 pm #31002Haha. Sorry you’re having such a busy day. Not sure if you’re talking about weekend open threads but I have some suggestions:
What is something you could change about yourself if you could?
Discuss your favorite age? Like what year of your life were you the most content/happy or do you think it’s yet to come?
4th of July plans?
Alternate career choice? If money/college/anything wasn’t an issue what is your dream job?
Have you ever been a bully and regretted it?
Lets discuss happy things that have happened recently to either you or people you know – kind of a positivity thread. That’s all I got for now.
June 21, 2012 at 2:06 pm #31005“you WOULD change about yourself if you could”
June 21, 2012 at 2:09 pm #31012Favourite childhood memories? Since there were a couple of sweet ones on the Father´s Day thread last w/end.
June 21, 2012 at 2:10 pm #31013I’ve been thinking a lot about my “bucket list” for life lately…things I’ve already checked off, things I’m currently working on, and things I’m still aspiring towards. That would be a great topic.

June 21, 2012 at 2:15 pm #31015Oooo Anna I like the bucket list!
June 21, 2012 at 2:25 pm #31021IWanna: I love ALL of those!
Maybe a “What would you do if you won the lottery and money was no object” thread? I can’t remember if we did one of those when the MegaMillions was huge though, so if we did, just ignore that. How about a Zombie Apocalypse plan thread, since all those face-eaters have been in the news lately! Or maybe a “the moment you realized you were an adult” thread.
Wendy, I hope you have AC! When there was that huge east coast blackout about 8-9 years ago, I remember being sick that day and the heat was unbearable because I wasn’t feeling well. I hope you two feel better and get well soon!
June 21, 2012 at 3:22 pm #31031How about an *awkward moments* open thread? I seem to have them far too often so it would be awesome to hear about other peoples’ “wtf” moments.
Could be work, vacations, standing in line somewhere, the bedroom, family occasions, anything and everything.
June 21, 2012 at 3:32 pm #31033@mclovin I think I would manage to collapse an “awkward moments” thread all by myself.
June 21, 2012 at 3:40 pm #31034We could always try to have an open thread without a topic? A directionless thread full of Addie talking about her latest trip to TJs and then the conversation could grow from there. Actually, I think a lot of our discussions here grow from Addie talking about wine or cheese.
June 21, 2012 at 3:50 pm #31036I love the awkward moments idea. I still cringe over things that happened 10 or 20 years ago.
June 21, 2012 at 6:10 pm #31055Bring on the A-W-K!! hahaha, I like this idea a lot.
Maybe “life-changing moments or realizations?” As in, you’re travelling on your life path and then BOOM something happens (hopefully for the better) and you go in another direction totally.
Along those same lines- an “I wish I acted differently in this huge life moment” kinda thing.
Or our own version of myveryworstdate.com. That would be awesome.
Feel better, Wendy and Jack!! (And I hope you have A/C too. I cant believe how quick this stupid heatwave hit. I was wearing a jacket Sat and Sun nights!)
