@Mandalee–I hate getting old. I also hate that I can’t start the weekend on Thursday like I used to, because working with a hangover SUCKS. Oh and hangovers suck after 25.
June 11, 2012 at 2:52 pm #29495I had an awesome weekend. I graduated college (well walked. I finished in november) and my family was out here. We had a great time and they met and LOVE my boyfriend.
June 11, 2012 at 2:53 pm #29496My weekend was OK. Went to that Snow White movie with a coworker on friday, saturday I … don’t remember. I know I played games for a few hours, but I don’t remember the rest (And I wasn’t even drinking…sometimes I think I’m getting early onset alzheimers…), and sunday sucked because I did nothing but clean, fold, and do laundry all day.
June 11, 2012 at 2:55 pm #29497@Lili- Ugh, hangovers after 25 are horrible!! It’s so depressing. My 26th birthday is creeping closer, and I’m more worried about not being hungover after celebrating than anything else. It lasts foreverrr!
June 11, 2012 at 2:56 pm #29498Congrats LadyinPurpleNotRed!
@Brad – it happens to the best of us. I have an excellent memory for a lot of things, but sometimes if you ask what I did the day before (or even a few hours before), I can’t remember. I can; however, remember something my husband said 5 years ago and hold it against him.
Man does he hate that. I also hold a lot of little random facts in my brain that will never be useful to anyone ever. June 11, 2012 at 2:58 pm #29499I was sick all weekend. After a busy week, wouldn’t it figure that my stomach acts up for the last weekend of the RenFair? Of course it does. So, homebound I was.
Today is my 2nd son’s 10th birthday. I have to pick up a cake. Still feeling like crap. Still dealing with a busy work thing (I’ll update on that later).Anyhow, I’m not dead. Just too damned busy to reply and sometimes, too busy to read!
June 11, 2012 at 3:02 pm #29501@Mandalee–B Complex is your friend. That and water between each drink. If I remember those two things, and then some gummy vitamins before bed, i’m usually pretty functional the next day. Also, remember to put some cleansing face wipes and cucumbers in the fridge the night before. They feel AWESOME on the skin the next am and reduce bloating and puffiness (the cucumbers help eye puffiness, but anything cold should do the trick) Oh and I sip coconut water instead of coffee the next morning. Birthdays are def heavy drink days!
June 11, 2012 at 3:25 pm #29502Mine sucked compared to Bethany’s. Actually it was good, did something different. Went to the Triple Crown race at Belmont, took a big ol limo there, drank champagne and ate little sandwiches, and then out to dinner at my favorite restaurant in the city with a bunch of family and my SO. Good times, just a little poorer.
June 11, 2012 at 3:54 pm #29504Hangovers do suck. Haha. What’s weird for me is some days I will drink like a champ, all these crazy mixed drinks and be totally fine. Then I’ll have a few beers and feel like crap the next day.
My weekend was pretty great too. I went to this photo expo/seminar thing and learned a lot of cool new tricks. Then my BF came down and we drank too much haha. Then went to the pool ad an Iron&Wine concert outdoors with my BF, brother ad his wife drank more. Good times had by all
June 11, 2012 at 4:03 pm #29505My weekend was fan-freaking-tactic. Boyfriend and I attended the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. VIP section, staying till 4 every day, the whole shebang. Couldn’t have had more fun or be more physically pained right now (lol)!
June 11, 2012 at 4:27 pm #29508i second the B vitamins for hangovers… when i was in mexico me and my friends drank like crazy people. and my friend is a total mom, she is a nanny for her job, and so when we would fall back into our hotel room after the martini bar she would hand out b vitamins to everyone.. lol. but they totally work! i was totally functional in mexico! the whole week!
June 11, 2012 at 4:39 pm #29509Sweets! I’m jealous of you too! I miss Vegas.
Anyway, my Friday afternoon at work ended HORRIBLY. I could hear my co-workers chitter-chattering about how someone was “prejudiced” and I asked them what they were talking about, but they wouldn’t tell me. Then when they left for home (we have slightly different shifts), my boss came in and said that she had to go down to personnel because she was accused of being “racist.” My 2 co-workers are African American and I am white. Apparently they think I get preferential treatment because I’m white. One of my co-workers found out that I make more money than she does, and I think that’s where it started, and it snow-balled from there. I don’t know what other incidents contributed to it. But now it’s super AWKWARD for me…. AND now my boss is going to be all up ALL of our asses equally. She said she wanted to warn me and give me a heads up as to why it’s happening, but she’s going to be micro-managing the shit out of us.
So I was already DYING for a cocktail. I went to my hometown for a fundraiser for kids with CF (my friend has a daughter with CF), and started drinking early. I was also upset because I was in the midst of a pretty “heavy” conversation with my boo about where our relationship is going (it’s not looking good, to be honest), except we hadn’t seen each other since Monday and I wanted to talk in person but I was out of town, so there was this whole “to be continued” thing hanging over my head.
THEN my friend announced that she is pregnant. I’m not HUGELY surprised, and on one hand, I’m very happy for her because I know how badly she wants another kid. But here’s the thing… She already has 3 kids (the first 2 were with a different dad). One of them has cystic fibrosis, and she is a VERY sick child. Her new baby will have a 25% chance of having CF. On top of that, her relationship with her husband has been pretty shitty lately (she’s been seriously considering divorce), AND he’s not working. It’s none of my business because like I said, she’s happy… but I’m just very concerned.
Then I drank too much and made an ass of myself. The end.
June 11, 2012 at 4:42 pm #29510aw cats, thats sounds terrible…
June 11, 2012 at 5:16 pm #29513Cats, I hope next weekend is better for you. How about you come up/over/whatever to WI and get a tattoo with me. That usually makes me feel better
June 11, 2012 at 5:18 pm #29514Honeybee, that’s funny becaue the one good thing about my weekend was that I talked to a guy about designing my next tattoo. He’s going to add on to something I already have, so next weekend I’m going in to get a tracing so he can start workign on it.
