Weird Smells?

I love the smell of Target. Why do all Targets smell the same?

I’ve been on a couple tours of Great American Ballpark (Cincinnati Reds). I liked the smell when we were down on the field and in the dougouts in the nearly empty ballpark.

I like the smell of ballparks, but that’s more that I like the smell of dirt.

I have a VW Jetta, and it always smells like crayons. So much so that everyone who gets in it comments “CRAYONS!” I have no clue why my car smells like crayons, it’s not like I left one in there to melt or anything.

The crayon smell has to do with a finish used for the interior. Every VW (besides my dad’s vintage Thing) has the same crayon smell.

I also love the smell of old books. And fresh paint.

Fresh paint – yes! Anyone shocked that the painter likes the smell of paint? Anyone? And anything lumber-related, especially fresh-cut pine. There’s also a really specific smell that comes from heated metal that I wish I could capture in a bottle because it’s so nice.

Also, I love the way my dog smells when he’s not gross-dirty. He has this really specific smell that’s kind of combo animal-baking-bread-linen, and I seriously get a good whiff at least once a day. He sniffs me, so I figure it’s fair, right? Random, but have you ever noticed dog feet all smell like Fritos? Dog owners, seriously, check this out if you haven’t. It’s weird.

I love the smell of ink on paper. I always buy the same cheap pens from Office Depot because of the way the ink smells.

As if you guys didn’t already know that I’m a straight-up country girl…my favorite weird smells are:

- mud, especially if it’s burning on the tailpipe of my 4 wheeler or truck. It smells like fun!!
- gunpowder (also, smells like fun)
-grilling steak
-weed (growing or being smoked)
