What to wear when boyfriend is best man?

My boyfriend is the best man in an upcoming wedding. Is there any sort of convention as far as what to wear? Not the wedding colors (navy and coral), right? Should I take care to wear something that doesn’t clash with those, or just wear something pretty?

My fiance just played a super important role in his sisters wedding and I wore this dress in navy blue.

I would think it would be fine for you to wear navy, but I wouldn’t wear black, white, or coral. I would take time to wear something nicer, you never know what you might be doing since he has such an important role in the wedding.

Thanks guys! Bonus- it’s super comfy! And forgiving when you ate an enormous wedding steak and drink a ton of beers. I tried on another of their dresses as well and it was awesome too. I highly recomend Maggy London to anyone looking for dress.

Also, applescruffs I brought a pair of sparkly sandles along with me. I spent the day helping out the mother of the bride, then switched into my heels for the ceremony and dinner, and then back to the sparkly sandles. Of course judge by your crowd, but I was not the only one at this wedding swapping shoes.

I’d suggest something conservative (not too short, and not too much bosom) and in the same color family as your boyfriend’s outfit, without looking similar to the bridesmaids, since you might end up in some official pictures.

I think you’re over-thinking it. You probably won’t be in official photos unless he’s you or he are related to the bride or groom. I’d pay more attention to the wedding itself – is it a formal wedding, or a casual back-yard wedding – in deciding what to wear.
