Women on both sides of the political spectrum are getting the “The Post-Trump Haircut”

“On Thursday, Donald Trump named Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Holdings, the parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, as his pick for secretary of labor. Puzder is a controversial choice for a host of reasons, including his attitudes about—and alleged treatment of—women. In a press release in 2011, he wrote: ‘We believe in putting hot models in our commercials, because ugly ones don’t sell burgers. We target hungry guys, and we get young kids that want to be young hungry guys.’ He continued defending the commercials as recently as last year, when he said: “I like our ads. I like beautiful women eating burgers in bikinis. I think it’s very American.”

I just can’t with Trump’s picks. And the guy he picked to head the EPA…it just feels like we’re going back in time with all of this, it’s very scary.

Very scary. It will take decades to undo the damage he and his administration will do.

Maybe centuries. Maybe never. The environmental stuff is the scariest, to me. Everything else can be reversed. That, cannot.

These links are depressing. It’s even more depressing to realize that the reason so many are depressing is because most of the news right now is also depressing.

Wendy, can we have a post of just happy things on inauguration day? Something to balance out the overwhelming darkness that seems to be coming? I’d like to just ignore the inauguration, eat ice cream, and read happy things like what’s good in people’s lives for 24 hours.

Agreed, I second this motion for happy things that day!

I’m planning to stay off of social media the whole day, except check for updates on the march, and maybe watch West Wing or Parks and Rec. I’ll be stuck a few blocks away from the edge of the event… I’m also still hoping weather will cancel some of it (did in the 80’s for cold)…

Eh. the other Trump picks are far more alarming. So… Some guy uses sexy models to sell hamburgers? Sexy model use is alarming? Really? Come on! When was the last time you saw a 5 hawking anything? Hell, every cosmetic beauty product line out there is guilty of this. Every Soda company. Every clothing store… HELLO! Sex sells. Duh… .
Now, the startling fact that he is against raising the minimum wage is much more menacing than his featuring bikini models in advertising… Sorry, but that’s just a real reach.
