Super glad to hear that Nordstrom dropped Ivanka’s stuff because it wasn’t selling. For companies that just sell Trump stuff (like Amazon and Zappos), as opposed to supporting Trump directly, I think boycotting the brand, as opposed to the seller, is more effective, anyway, because they can see where the popularity/sellability of the products has tanked and stop selling them, but you’re still able to support other sellers on those sites who don’t support or endorse white supremacy.

I think that is probably true. I haven’t bought anything of theirs before but I’ll make sure to watch not to even more now.

I just emailed Amazon to request they stop advertising with Breitbart. I love amazon…like I have a problem, but it makes me rage that they are in essence giving money to those agendas.

Realistically almost every large retailer probably carries a brand that endorses or engages in shitty behavior. Anthropologie? Owned by Urban Outfitters aka the company that ripoffs indie designs, has had more than one instance of appropriating different cultures and tragedies, and hasn’t had the most LGBT friendly history. Most grocery stores or CPG retailers? Nestlé, who have done some pretty horrific things but promoting baby formula in developing countries resulting in thousands of infants dying is probably the top of the list. Even makeup brands have their share of controversies -MAC just launched the Caitlyn Jenner collection which seems like odd timing as she is a huge Trump supporter (although I don’t think anything will be as misguided as their MAC x Rodarte collection that fetishized violence against women). I don’t blame people for voicing their disdain with Ivanka Trump’s line, but it’s hard to find a retailer that isn’t engaged in some sort of unethical behavior. I’ve never purchased any Trump merchandise before he entered politics because I was never a fan of him or his family, but I definitely wouldn’t now. However, I’m not going to boycott retailers on the basis of Ivanka because it would make me feel pretty hypocritical about all the other companies I support despite their issues. In a perfect world, I would only by ethical goods but that’s just not feasible for me. Of course not everyone is as all-or-nothing as me, and I fully support those choosing to vote with their dollars. I also think Nordstrom is making a wise move since all the Ivanka stuff seems to end up at discount retailers anyways.

For the record the Sonny Bill Williams that all the NZ women want to sleep with once got caught in a public toilet at a nightclub with a woman who was very much not his girlfriend and earned the nickname Dunny Bill.
