Here are a few things from around the web that may interest you:

“In a just system, Weinstein would have faced career-ruining social and professional consequences the first time he changed into a bathrobe and begged a horrified woman for a massage. In a just system, the abuse wouldn’t have stayed an open secret for decades while he was left free to chew through generation after generation of starlets. Weinstein’s life, like Cosby’s, isn’t the story of some tragic, pitiable downfall. It’s the story of someone who got away with it.

The witches are coming, but not for your life. We’re coming for your legacy. The cost of being Harvey Weinstein is not getting to be Harvey Weinstein anymore. We don’t have the justice system on our side; we don’t have institutional power; we don’t have millions of dollars or the presidency; but we have our stories, and we’re going to keep telling them.”

I love “Yes, this is a witch hunt. I’m a witch and I’m hunting you.”

I’ve been baffled by the use of the expression “witch hunt” when talking about the Weinstein case, or the Cosby case, or any similar cases. It’s like, you will take as your analogy a time in history where women were persecuted in large parts because they were women who didn’t lived according to society’s standards? That’s your analogy? You don’t see a problem with associating *women who were preyed on* with *men who are now exposed for having preyed on women*?

At least if they chose a different more gender neutral expression… Like “it’s a cabal!” or “Is this the Spanish inquisition or what?”. But no, they say “witch hunt”, like if they were the innocent witches. They are not!

The witch hunt article made my night. Exactly that, all of it. I thought this was an astute observation: Donald Trump, our predator in chief, seems to view the election of Barack Obama as a white man being fired. He and his supporters are willing to burn the world in revenge. This whole catastrophic cultural moment was born of that same entitlement, of Trump’s paws and Weinstein’s unbelted bathrobe, of the ancient cycles of abuse that ghostwrote the Trump campaign’s real slogan: If I can’t have you, no one will.

I read the one about sabotaging relationships, bf I have to say that not doing that first one is really hard right now. I met someone about a month ago, things going good, when he says he got a job in San Antonio. I am crushed, I haven’t been so excited about someone in awhile, and I am just unbelievable with my bad luck. He’s pretty much ruled out long distance (I’m in Austin) and so here I am trying to stay optimistic.
