I advise you all to avoid the comments on the Bill Cosby article. I love Jell-O as much as the next person, but it’s pretty fucking clear that Bill Cosby is a rapist.

I wish the women felt they could have come forward when it happened. The statute of limitations has long run out – it damages his reputation but that’s it. It is sad how this all played out – the women can tell their stores but without justice…and some of the stories that have been disproven are distracting from the women who were actually victimized.

There is a really interesting article on Jezebel about a ghost pregnancy. Is this woman delusional? The subject is also arguing in the comments with lots of people.

Yeah! That was fascinating. I can’t stop thinking about what we could do if we were able to harness and control that kind of mental body-shaping. @[email protected]

Re: holiday stress, I can see why women tend to do that more often than men. It’s not that men don’t care about the holidays because of course they do, but I think some women like to establish traditions and do certain things around the holidays, like the examples given. I know I’ve fallen into that trap a couple of times too. For example, I decided that this weekend would be a great time for Navy Guy’s parents to meet my parents. Which is great and I’m glad they’re meeting each other, but with EVERYTHING else that’s going on, it just adds something else to the already full plate.
    .
My holiday stress is more because I have 5 concerts within two weeks at my schools (yaaaay being a musician!) and I feel like I have NO TIME to do all of the preparations — shopping, baking, gift wrapping, etc — much less do my normal cleaning and household chores. I love the holidays and I love the season. I’m just tired and wish I had more energy to appreciate it. Unfortunately with my job December will pretty much always be busy.

I have been married to a music teacher for 23+ years, and I can say without hesitation: Yes, yes it will. I hope Navy Guy is good with a camcorder!

BTW, good luck and congrats on the big “parent meet-up”! MAJOR milestone.

And thanks! I think it is a pretty big step. We have talked timelines of taking the next step in our relationship, but I definitely haven’t been broadcasting that, even to those closest to me. My mom has been super curious as to what the “meet the parents” stage means in terms of mine and Navy Guy’s relationship.

UPDATE: the meeting of both sets of parents went REALLY well. My dad even invited them over to their place in a few months at the end of lunch! All is good and I’m happy that it went so smoothly. 🙂

So cool that you’re married to a music teacher. 🙂 I teach in all private schools so of course they all have a Christmas concert. If I have to hear Jingle Bells one more time…hahaha. NG is pretty good with a camcorder so I’m not too worried. He attended one of my concerts this past spring and one of my girls came up to me saying “Sooo my mom said I probably shouldn’t ask you this…but WHO’S THAT GUY???” It was hilarious.
