The article about health plans and women’s coverage options is a sad reality. I just went through two weeks of fighting with my insurance company over having to pay for the Nuvaring and how they weren’t following the rules and regulations set by the ACA. Even calling and saying “What you’re doing is illegal!” they would all have the same response. It’s really infuriating because it plays on perceived female weaknesses.

“Sorry, ma’am. We don’t cover that kind.” is expected to be met with “Oh, well darn! I guess I’ll get something else.”
“That’s not part of your insurance plan.” is expected to be met with “Oh, shoot! I guess I’ll have to talk to my husband about our options!”

If anyone is having to pay for their birth control in the United States – IT IS ILLEGAL! You shouldn’t have to pay ANYTHING.
