Those celebrity photos are hilarious. Especially the David Duchovny one. I´´ll never be able to look at him in the same way again.

His 4 horseman of the apocalypse: stonewalling, criticism, contempt and defensiveness are the best indicators of a unhealthy relationship. I wish more people admitted when they did them and felt them instead of ignoring it.

Lili, where’s your beautiful face?!?! 🙁

My fiance and I have started referring to our parents as the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Of course they have no idea we’re doing that, and it’s a total joke. My mom is Death, his mom is War, my dad is Plague, and his dad is Famine. Last night we went to visit War and Famine to give them a spare key to our new apartment, and this weekend we have to go visit Death and Plague to pick up some stuff from their house and give them some stuff they left here in the move.

You gave them a spare key? What if they drop by unannounced like Dani’s dad does on Married to Jonas?? (my new obsession btw. its such an entertaining trash show)

        How’s the move in going?

I’ve never heard of that show. Should I check it out? I need some new entertainment in my life.

And yeah, we gave them a key, but only because we know they’re never going to use it. I’m so lucky to have future-in-laws that need a lot of personal space and aren’t interested in seeing us more than once a week tops, probably less, even though we live in the same town.

The move is going GREAT! Thanks for asking! I made a really long post about it on the Weekend Thread, but most of the boxes are unpacked, and most things have a home now. Not everything is organized the way I want it, but it’s at least put away for now. The really exciting thing is that this apartment is so much nicer than the model apartment we looked at. Our walk-in closet is twice as big, and so is the storage closet. There are two extra kitchen cabinets, fancier carpet, fancy crown molding, tile everywhere. I honestly never thought I would live somewhere this nice, and this is our first place that we rented under budget! It’s been a wonderful gift from the universe, or wherever.

Re: Michelle Obama’s speech – Cue typical Fox News response, “But does she have a relevance to the election? Does she produce votes for Barack? I doubt it.” — Dick Morris, Fox News

Please. Michelle Obama killed it. Killed it with that speech which, by the way, she wrote herself. Here is his response to Ann Romney’s trying to channel Oprah “I love my WOMAAAAAN!!!” speech: Ann Romney: Game Changer

    Ugh.

I know I love Michelle Obama. I know that first lady’s aren’t the reason that president’s get elected but Obama is very lucky to have her on his side.

I know some people like Ann Romney, but I just love Michelle more. I love watching the Restaurant Impossible episode she stars in. She’s just so awesome! And she went on Ellen I think and tried to do double dutch jump rope.

I think I have a crush on her.

Of course the first lady is related to the votes the president gets! Why else would the whole family be carted up on stage at conventions (RNC and DNC mind you), numerous events, campaign stops, etc etc. Ugh Fox News makes me want to poke my eyes out.

Is anyone voulenteering for election stuff or a party? I think I would like to get involved (even just with voter sign ups- doesn’t have to be advocating for a party) but I’m having trouble figuring out where to begin. Everything seems over complicated.

I have no experience in getting involved in elections like that, but I’ve been looking for jobs, and I’ve seen some election jobs posted on Craigslist. Not sure what exactly you do for them, but it’s a place to start!

On Obama’s website there is a place where you can look up your state and it gives you a list of any campaign offices and their contact info in your area. I’m sure they have this with other candidates as well.

I haven’t volunteered, but I am looking into getting involved with either the Senate or Rep in my district because honestly, if the Repubs control those again, even if Obama gets elected, he will be screwed. I would suggest the same for anyone, regardless which side of the ticket you are voting for 🙂

OK… the OK Cupid Pube thing??? Now, most people on here know that I am over 50 – pushing 51. Does the pube grooming thing really matter?? Seriously? So if I were a young single woman, not only would I need to have a PhD in Astrophysics or a Law Degree so I could date my slacker college dropout boyfriend (read the statistics in The End of Men), and take care of my hair, my eyebrows, my skin, my nails and stay in great shape, but nowadays I would need to groom my pubes too??? Are these slacker boys entitled, spoiled or what! Really??!!!???

Love the links this week, Wendy, esp OK Cupid…. hilarious. The Judy Blume article was great – she’s still such a great writer and i had no clue how old she was. Gives me great memories of reading all her novels when i was little and learning about all the puberty things to come!
