Dear Wendy readers are some of the most intelligent, stylish, super cool people around (it’s a proven fact), so, when a commenter suggested I create a regular feature for them to recommend some of their favorite products, it was a no-brainer and Reader Recs was born. Today’s recommendations come from Cassie, who is a teacher who lives in Minnesota with her husband. Her hobbies include taking care of her new kitten Amos (pictured), kettlebell, traveling, and pottery. She also enjoys having a sense of humor and conversing with people who laugh at her lame jokes. Keep reading for some of her favorite product recommendations.
Da Bird Cat Toy
This is one of my cat’s favorite toys. He gets bored with some of the others, but, whenever I pull Da Bird, out he goes crazy for it. It’s quite sturdy, so it stands up to a lot of pouncing, biting, and clawing and he’s able to get his energy out in a productive way. Here’s what he had to say about Da Bird: fav’;e]q. I think that’s cat-type for, “I love it very much.”
Cuisinart Cookware Set
A while back my husband was looking for new pots and pans since we were still using my old, beat-up set from my college days. He has experience working in restaurants and is an avid home cook, so his expectations are pretty high. I likes this set, which looks great, is of good quality, is very affordable, and has everything you could need. [Plus, it’s marked down 66% from $670 to $231!! — wendy]
Tiki Tissue Box Holder
I love getting kitschy gifts for my brother every year for Christmas, and this Tiki head tissue box holder was a huge hit with him and other members of my family.
Kitchens of India Curry Paste
I enjoy going out to eat, and one of my favorite cuisines is Indian. But sometimes I get the desire to eat Indian food on my couch in my pajamas, and this poses a conundrum since Indian restaurants don’t deliver (in Minnesota at least). Thankfully, this curry paste (and basically everything I’ve tried by this brand) makes cooking delicious Indian meals very simple and quick. It’s got great flavor, a decent spice level, and is 100% natural. I’ve included the link, but I’ve always been able to find this brand in grocery stores.
Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation
This is my HG foundation. If you like light-to-medium coverage and a natural look, this is the foundation for you. Whenever I wear it, I can’t stop stroking my cheek and staring (which feels a little Silence-of-the-Lambs-y at times, but it’s that good). It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it’s lasted me quite a few months already. Plus, Sephora has an excellent return policy if the product doesn’t work out.
If you have some products you’d like to recommend to the DW audience, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with links to five recommendations. (Write “reader recs” in the subject line, please). Your recommendations can be from any store or website, but they need to be accessible online — and I would love it if at least two items could be found on Amazon where I am an affiliate. If your list is a good fit for the site, I’ll ask you to write a brief description of each item/ explain what you love so much about it.
