Dear Wendy readers are some of the most intelligent, stylish, super cool people around (it’s a proven fact), so, when a commenter suggested I create a regular feature for them to recommend some of their favorite products, it was a no-brainer and Reader Recs was born. Today’s recommendations come from reader, Sms841. Sms841 lives in Philadelphia with her adorable dog. Newly single, she enjoys exploring the city, finding out about new events through Meetup.com, and wasting way too much time lurking on DW when she’s supposed to be working. Check out her recommendations below!
Dry shampoo is a savior for when I wake up too late to wash my hair or just need to freshen up before going out at night. I especially like this one because I have really light hair and it’s the one brand I’ve found that doesn’t look like I have baby powder in my hair.
An electric wine opener is perfect when having a party and you need to open several bottles quickly or when you’re a klutz like I am and can’t open a bottle with a standard corkscrew. It works on real and fake corks, and you’ll never get a cork stuck in the bottle again!
These have quickly become my favorite beauty product. I have very sensitive skin that tends to flake if I don’t exfoliate. These pads contain AHAs which are supposed to be less harsh than a physical exfoliant like St. Ives apricot scrub, which is more widely available. I’ve seen a noticeable difference in the clarity of my skin, and it doesn’t flake anymore even in the harsh winter!!!
I got this massager and this massage bar for Christmas. The massage bar is very lemony and melts when rubbed on the skin. Only a little is needed, so I’m sure it will last for a while. The massager is awesome too because I have back problems and like to get a firm massage. This tool made back rubs turn into mini-spa moments!
5. Simply Vera Vera Wang Opaque Control-Top Tights
I used to get all of my tights at places like CVS until I tried these. I’ve had several pairs for at least two years, and I haven’t had a single pair rip. They’re also a lot softer than the cheap brands, and you can get them at about the same price at Kohl’s, especially because they go on sale so often.
