Dear Wendy

Thank You For Your Affiliate Support!

You guys rock! So many of you have been emailing lately asking if you’re shopping my Amazon affiliate link the right away and I’m really touched that you even care enough to think about it, let alone double check that I’m actually getting the commission you want me to have. Last month was the best month I’ve had as far as affiliate earnings go — I made more than double my previous best month, and that’s thanks to you. Those earnings help cover the overhead costs for running this site and help pay a babysitter for Jackson (and some went to Occupy Sandy). Thank you!

This is my direct Amazon affiliate link that you’re welcome to bookmark if that makes it easier to get to. To answer a frequent question: once you click that link, I get a commission (as much as 8%) on anything you purchase in that visit. Even if you just put something in your shopping cart, I will still get a commission if it’s purchased within 30 days.

Thanks again, everyone, and if you need holiday shopping ideas, you can always revisit my gift guides.

I have another question about it…
I was going to email my mom some links to stuff I might want for Christmas. If I go through your affiliate link to find the stuff, then email my mom the direct link, then she opens it and buys right from there, will you get credit? (i hope you followed that)

Considering I buy about 90% of Christmas from Amazon, it seems like a great way to support this site! Thanks for all you do.

@MaterialsGirls My understanding is that I would not receive residual or recurring commission on subscription-based purchases, but I would on the initial purchase. Thanks for asking.

@Bethany Unfortunately, unless a purchase is made through my direct affiliate link, I would not receive a commission. But thank you for putting in the effort!

Do you have a ModCloth affiliate link (I thought I saw something about ModCloth)? I shop there all the time and I’m happy to use it, but unfortunately I’m in Canada so I shop at Amazon.ca instead of .com 🙁

Yes, I do. I don’t have a direct affiliate link yet, but will share it when I do.

If you can/will make an Amazon.ca affiliate link I would happily use it!

If you look on the right sidebar you’ll see a ModCloth ad with a header that says “Thank you for shopping through my ModCloth affiliate link below.” I’ll get a commission for any purchases you make through that link. Thanks!

I was just wondering about this earlier today; I used DW’s link to put stuff in my cart, but won’t be purchasing them until this weekend. Good to know you still get the commission! 🙂

I just did a ton of holliday shopping through your link but I still have a couple questions as I do 95% of my shopping at Amazon or Target =)

    1. If something is in my cart, but I go through your link do you get commission?

    2. If I move something from my wish list or save for later to my cart after going to Amazon through your link will you get commission?

    Thanks!

      1. If you go through my link, put something in your cart and purchase it within 30 days, I do get a commission.

      2. I’m not sure. I’ve researched and can’t find a solid answer, but my hunch would be that I would get a commission on those purchases.

      Thanks!

I’m always worried that the link isn’t working because when Wendy posts link to product listings on Amazons (for example, book club books) and I click through, I see “dearwecom” in the url. But, when I click through Wendy’s affiliate link and navigate from the homepage to a product listing, the “dearwecom” disappears. Hopefully it is still working?

      It’s still working, don’t worry.
