There are hardly any advice letters anymore.

There was a new letter just this morning. If you follow enough to feel like there aren’t enough letters, you follow enough to know that Wendy doesn’t really turn a profit on the site – hosting costs money and it’s time consuming to keep it up to the level that she already does practically for free.

I’m just glad there is a Dear Wendy website to visit. Thanks Wendy!

Maybe you should stop checking DW every hour to see if there’s anything new? Or take time to read every comment that was written on it?

There was a letter this morning btw. Maybe you should read that one. Also, how about you read what Wendy wrote the other day? She has a baby to take care now, which leaves her way less time than she had before to read and give advice on letters and then posting them. Having a website and maintaining it takes time, Putting content in it takes time. And like FancyPants said shes pretty much doing it for free. Which brings me to the update issue: why do people not send updates?! Wendy takes the time to answer and publish your letter and you can’t even send a little short update? What the hell -_-

I actually have one picked out that I’m excited about, but in April we’ll have a vote for May’s selection.

I am happy to continue shopping at Amazon for a good “cause”. *giggle* I have made supporting the Dear Wendy site a “cause”. My biggest purchase months are usually February/March and October. I’m done with my big stuff for this purchase season, but I’ll still be buying stuff throughout the year until my next big spree in October (dividends for X-mas).

I would have though that the Google ads would have worked better than Amazon though. Either way, good for you.

This might sound really daft but I’m not very technically minded so please bear with me. I need to use Amazon.co.uk to get my goodies delivered here. Can I still use Wendy’s link to help her or will that just be a waste of clicks? I hope my question makes sense.

I’ve been very torn about ordering a new yoga bag, because the one I want is like $50. I feel like the universe is telling me to buy it, becasue there have been 3 signs in the last few days saying yes
1- Amazon sent me an email with said bag in it.
2- Discover sent me an email reminding me that I get free shipping from Amazon for the month of March
    3- Wendy just posted this

I really need to buy the bag, don’t I?

If youve wanted it for over 3 weeks, will use it the week it arrives and can afford it (and not in the — I will just eat ramen this week– way), buy it. It’s not an impulse, I assume it has cool features that you really want (if it’s just some fancy brand but exactly same, only if you really care about brand) and the universe is saying yes. The whole point of working hard and saving is – in addition to feeding and clothing you and those who rely on you – allowing yourself to get things that will make you happy when you want to. And its the “when you want to” part that really makes me feel like an adult/success. So go for it.

I say go for it. If you’ve wanted it for a while you’ll love it. This isn’t an impulse purchase (although I love those too) so you probably won’t regret it. I have a personal philosophy if you could all it that – where I don’t get mad at myself for money I spend on things that are healthy or good for me. Lululemon yoga stuff falls in that category because it encourages me to go to yoga which is good for my physical and mental health.

Actually, I don’t think it comes in green, lucky for you!

The bag is mine! Woo Hoo! It’s shipping as we speak!
AND, it’s actually made out of recycled plastic bottles, which I didn’t know, and $1 from every bag goes to some recycling charity!

If I already have items on my wishlist I want to buy, is there a way I can navigate to my wishlist then “add to cart” through wendy’s link? Or is it only if I search the item through the link? Hope that makes sense… Amazon won’t always record a purchase off your wishlist & remove the item if you click “add to cart” from anywhere besides your wishlist.

@Anon If you click the link on the site it takes you directly to Amazon and then you click on your wishlist and proceed as usual.

Awesome thank you! I was keeping an eye on the url, & when I clicked onto my wishlist I didn’t see the Wendy tag anymore, that’s why I wanted to check 🙂
