HOLY. COW.April 20, 2017 at 9:08 am #682792
Omg! Yes! I saw this yesterday and at first thought it was going to be a letter about a boss who gives everyone the icks. Which, to an extent, it was! But, just, no. Even if your boss is a total creeper who objectifies his daughter AND you, you don’t say these things! And yeah, add me to the list of people who are surprised it took her hours to realize that what she was was inappropriate.
I almost created an AAM account yesterday to get in on this thread, as well as the one that was posted yesterday about bad gut feelings about jobs during the interview process that turned out to be spot on after being hired. (See also: the job I just left a few weeks ago.)April 20, 2017 at 9:36 am #682799
If I’d been her boss, I’d have stared at her long and hard. Then said — “No, they sure didn’t. Instead, they raised a dumb cunt. Pack your things. I want you out by five…”April 20, 2017 at 10:11 am #682805
I saw this post! She kept saying it was “accidental” but that comment (to me) was so pointed, you would have had to thought that out at least a little. Ouch.April 20, 2017 at 10:14 am #682807
Holy shit….I can’t believe anyone would think let alone say something like that! Wow. Yeah, boss has a creepy Donald-ogling-Ivanka-vibe but wow, there’s zero chance for recovery when you say something like that AND take hours to realize AND think it’s an ‘oopsie’. Love love LOVE that they’re both “Christians”; such shining examples.April 20, 2017 at 10:14 am #682808
The best part is how Hilariously dim she is. “Hours later, I realized…”April 20, 2017 at 10:16 am #682809
OMG, BGM, I literally snorted when I read your first comment on this…hahahahaha. Perfect response.April 20, 2017 at 10:18 am #682810
I was raised in a relatively religious environment, went to Catholic school and place importance on religion in my life (though would never force it upon others). The fact that she even brought up her “Christian upbringing” is so twisted to me. I would think that having a Christian upbringing would mean you are even LESS likely to make such a judgement and comment.April 20, 2017 at 10:22 am #682812
Aside from her beliefs, who would ever say the word “whore” to their boss in any context? Her not realizing for hours was entertaining to me too because, what? Does she regularly talk like that at work? My boss drops f-bombs a lot, but if I accidentally said something crude or too informal, even that would give me pause and make me feel like an idiot.April 20, 2017 at 10:26 am #682815
hmm that’s true too. The second I walk into the door, certain words are just not a part of my vocab.April 20, 2017 at 10:28 am #682817
Thanks, Lianne. Hours after posting that, I still LOVE the first thing that popped into my head.April 20, 2017 at 11:04 am #682822
I say, anytime you can use the term “cunt” at work it’s a good day.
