    Today is my first day back at work in almost two weeks and my dress pants are TIGHT. Heh.

    Same @Copa! Wearing mostly yoga pants for two weeks vacation seemed like a good idea at the time!

    I’ve been eating like crap over the past week or so and I feel like a slug because I get most of my exercise from hiking and I haven’t hiked in over a month, and it’s been abnormally cold here. This weekend I’m definitely getting outside and doing something. Have to remind myself that it’s only really bad if it’s windy…

    The city I relocated to last year has much better food but the drycleaning is terrible. All of my pants have shrunk.

    @K It is SO cold where I am right now. I had initially planned to use some of my time off for long, leisurely dog walks and exploring new areas of the city. But some of the days, even the high temps are still negative right now. Add in the wind, and NOPE – imma stay inside getting fat, thx. It’s always hard coming back to work (I feel overwhelmed trying to get through the e-mails I missed while I was out), but I’m glad to be getting back into a routine that doesn’t revolve around holiday food and booze.

    A couple weeks ago — somewhere in the holiday eating frenzy — I bought a pair of dress pants at Banana Republic. I didn’t try them on, because I was buying the exact same cut/style/size as a pair that I tossed because they had a huge hole. When I tried them on, they didn’t fit (I’m sure due in large part to water weight). For now I’m focusing on “just eating real food” (apparently this is known by the acronym JERF, which I had to look up yesterday after seeing it online haha) instead of calorie-counting. Even after a week of (mostly) a clean, whole foods diet, I’m comfortably back in the pants. YAY.

    Could also be you got a “bad pair” of pants, you know how they stack many layers of fabric and then cut them all at once… they don’t all end up exactly the same size because it’s not as precise as cutting one piece. Or yeah, maybe you’re bloated.

    If you haven’t bought the pants in a while, they could have altered them slightly. That’s happened to me before buying the exact same brand/style of pants but bought a significant amount of time apart.
