If that baby is his I hope you’re willing to accept less money in the house because you were silly enough to give up your job and live on only his wages. Child support isn’t cheap! This whole relationship is a cacophony of bad decisions. He’s manipulated you from the start to end up under his thumb, I hope you can see that.September 13, 2017 at 9:37 am #716929
And if he’s out there having unprotected sex with women, how do you know that she gave him an STD? He very well could have given her the STD.
Honestly, I wouldn’t believe any words that are coming out of his mouth. Even if he read to me from the Bible, I still wouldn’t believe him!September 13, 2017 at 9:53 am #716940
Seriously, I would just get a job, get my own place and MOA. I know that you love the guy, but there are just so many red flags about him: pushing you to quit your job is both controlling and financially irresponsible, he abuses alcohol, he is sexually irresponsible, and his child support payments are really going to mess with your joint finances. The child is most likely his — at least he thinks it is, or you wouldn’t even have been given the questionable explanation he gave.September 13, 2017 at 10:50 am #716955
Despite what Disney and Lifetime Holiday Movies tell you: Love is not enough. You are in the honeymoon phase – those happy chemicals are still flooding your brain. You should step back and think about what you really want out of ANY relationship and whether you’re compromising your needs. I think you are.September 13, 2017 at 10:57 am #716957
I guarantee that baby is his. I’d even go so far as to say that the baby’s mamma wasn’t sleeping around with anyone but him. He found about the STD when she told him that she had gotten it from him.
He’s hoping that LW doesn’t figure out that he’s sleeping around with other women. I’ve seen this scenario in real life and on TV, it never ends well for women like the LW.September 13, 2017 at 11:33 am #716959
Pregnancy due dates aren’t super accurate. Also, the nine months of pregnancy usually starts at the first day of the woman’s last period not the day conception happens. You typically don’t have an ultrasound until 8 or 9 weeks, only earlier if you are high risk. So don’t base paternity on dates. He needs to get a paternity test after the baby is born.
You should MOA no matter what.September 13, 2017 at 11:36 am #716960
Even forgetting about the baby, anybody who moves in with you in the first month and pressures you to quit your job so he can take care of everything and you have nothing to do but hang around the house should be sending you running screaming off into the sunset. You know nothing about this guy, except what he’s told you, and even if he DIDN’T have a kid on the way, why on earth would you want to make yourself totally dependant on him? Keep the job, lose the guy!
