I planned a trip to Nashville with a few friends in July. Has anyone here been? Does anyone have any recommendations of what we should do and where we should eat?

I live in the area and could totally help you out! What kind of vacay are you wanting to have, and how long will you be there?

It’s a friend’s 30th b-day and Fourth of July trip rolled into one. I’ll be there for 4.5 days, the other girls will be there for I think 6. The b-day girl is a foodie. We’re staying at an airbnb about 3 miles out from downtown.

I did the downtown fireworks years ago and it is so fun to do at least once. Traffic is CRAY though, so keep that in mind. Broadway Ave is a must if you are into bar hopping and music. Some touristy things you guys can do:
    1. Cruise on the General Jackson showboat
    2. Go to a show at the Ryman, if there is anyone good playing
    3. Frist Center for the Arts (museum)
    4. Country Music Hall of Fame
    5. See a show at the Opry (not downtown)
    6. Pedal Tavern
    7. Green Hills Mall and the Hill Center have great upscale shopping
    8. Catch a baseball game at First Tennessee National Park

    Things to see:

    1. Walk on the pedestrian bridge (where I got engaged!)
    2. Find Love Circle on Google Maps (great lookout)

It’s really hard to go wrong with restaurants in Nashville. There are SO MANY and I haven’t been to the new ones. Acme Feed and Seed has a great atmosphere. Whiskey Kitchen has great food (they don’t take reservations so you could literally wait hours). But like I said, there is a whole new generation of restaurants. Google reviews can help you out there. Popular areas are Germantown, Twelve South, the Gulch…Nashville is growing so much it is hard to keep up!

The food in Nashville was great! We went to Nashville Biscuit House on our last morning as we headed to the airport for biscuits and gravy, and those were the fluffiest biscuits. I still think about them. Haha.
