Hey y’all! My husband, 2 year old, and I are going to St. Louis for a long weekend (arriving Thurs afternoon, leaving Sunday afternoon) at the end of September. I think we have our what-to-do stuff under control, but need recommendations for FOOD! Places that we can bring a toddler and places that work with my pickiness (I don’t eat any form of Asian food, indian food, Mexican food – looking mostly for burgers and whatnot). And if there are things to do that I might have missed in my search of the basics, please give those tips as well!

Definitely go to Forest Park! The Zoo is free and amazing. Also, go visit Grant’s farm and do the tour, really fun place and you ride around on a little trolley.

We are staying 2 blocks from Forest Park. The zoo and Grants Farm are already on our list. I’ll add Pappy’s to our list of food! I haven’t heard of that one yet.

    Ted drewes!

Also, Toasted ravioli and ooey gooey butter cake are both stl delicacies.

An aquaintance from college just opened a family brewery in stl that a good friend of mine visited when he passed through during the eclipse last week. He said it it had some of the best beer he’s ever tasted, and the food was good too. It’s called charleville. Say hi to Tait for me if you go.

The Fountain on Locust is a cool Art Deco restaurant that makes great sandwiches and ice cream martinis. Pi pizza is excellent. Anything on The Hill or in the soulard area will be good. I second forest park and the zoo. Also the arch is pretty cool if you’re not claustrophobic or afraid of heights.

The transportation museum is cool if your kiddo likes trains and such. Have fun!

Yea there’s a really good children’s museum right? I still haven’t been up in the arch cause it’s still undergoing some construction, but will get to it eventually.

The zoo and Grant Park are two of my favorite places in St Louis. I’ve heard great things about the Children’s Museum, but haven’t been.

Growing up, I was from a smallish town and I my aunt and cousins lived close to the Galleria in St. Louis. It was my favorite mall ever. God I loved that place.

    I don’t have food recs though 🙁

    Have fun!

If you have time, the Arch is also pretty nice. Take the ride up in the trolley to the top.

The City Museum is pretty awesome as well.

Food recs: Try the Loop, there are all kinds of burger/pub/pizza places there.
I’m not sure where you are staying but if you’re near a place called the ‘Trainwreck’ they’re pretty sweet. I have a couple of friends who like Llewelyn’s pub and grill (it’s not my thing cause I don’t really like pub food). Schlafly’s seems to be a hit among that same crowd as well.

Have heard good things about the city museum from other people with kids. There’s a castle!
