Hey folks, I got a new job and my new boss very kindly let me know that the owners are not fans of visible tattoos. I have a small tattoo on my foot that just peeks over the line of a high heel or flats. Any suggestions on either makeup or cloth/athletic strips that will cover that up?
It’s really not much surface area at all and I’m afraid makeup will rub off on my shoes. Thoughts? Thanks!September 22, 2017 at 1:40 pm #717970

No advice but congrats on the new job.September 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm #717977
I don’t have any recommendations but I also think that a tattoo just peeking over the line of a shoe is so subtle that maybe the owners wouldn’t notice, and if they did it seems like such a minor thing to be concerned with since it’s not like a big in your face tattoo.September 22, 2017 at 2:01 pm #717978

And there’s one special for legs apparently?
How about keeping some make up and just in case the owners are around you apply some.September 22, 2017 at 2:06 pm #717980
@K She sent me a very kind email about it because she noticed it when I interviewed poking up from my shoe. She said she has tattoos herself and is trying to change the culture, but that the owners just don’t allow any visible tattoos. So I either need new shoes or to cover it up. Until it gets cold because boot and tights will eliminate the problem.
I’ve heard good stuff about dermablend Ale! I’ll have to try that!September 22, 2017 at 2:11 pm #717981
@cleopatra THANK YOU!September 22, 2017 at 2:18 pm #717982
I think new shoes would probably be the easiest solution. Look into getting more booties since they usually cover more of the foot but can still work in warmer temperatures.September 22, 2017 at 2:35 pm #717983
I was in a performance recently with a woman who had a huge back tattoo that peeked out of the costume. She used a large skin-colored bandage-tape that she could cut to size. I found online a few options, including plain old athletic tape from Walgreens and Wundercover skin shields that look to be specifically for tattoos.September 22, 2017 at 2:36 pm #717984
Yeah – I was thinking booties or socks as well. In Fall and Winter you can also wear opaque tights.September 22, 2017 at 2:53 pm #717987
Agree with all the suggestions, if it’s really small maybe just slap a bandaid on it?
