If you’re a regular reader of DW, I’m sure you’ve noticed the numerous technical difficulties on the site lately. As I explained yesterday, the issue has to do with my host site, HostGator. In a nutshell, the site has been getting more traffic than they were able to accommodate (at least with the package I had). Only, over the last six weeks, I’ve been given many, many reasons for the problems, varying from “You have too many plug-ins” to “You have too many comments. You shouldn’t allow comments.” Every time the site crashes, I (or Drew) usually spend an average of three hours on the phone with various people at HostGator trying to get things fixed. Then, we’re promised everything is fixed only to have the site crash again (sometimes within just a couple hours). I’m sure you can imagine how aggravating this has been.
So, we’ve made a few changes — unfortunately, there might be a few more glitches over the next couple of days as things settle into place (like the comments disappearing as they did earlier) — and HOPEFULLY, this will be the end of the madness. Thank you for being patient. Again, I’m really sorry for the annoyances and I hope this is just about the end of them. Thanks for sticking it out with me.
