“Wendy’s Weekly Picks,” is a feature in which I highlight stuff I like or recommend in the worlds of fashion, gift ideas, home decor, makeup, websites, entertainment, and recipes. Of course, many of the things I link to will be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Here are my favorite finds this week:
A couple weeks ago, Drew took a quick 24-hour trip to Saugerties to visit an old college friend of his who moved there with his partner and their little boy. It was to have been a family trip for us, but because of colds the kids and I stayed behind. Drew brought home a box of chocolates for me that were handcrafted at a place in Saugerties, and I was blown away. Krause’s Chocolates are seriously some of the best chocolates I’ve ever had. If you’re a close friend or family member of ours, expect some from us for the holidays this year!
I got this jacket during a store-wide sale a couple weeks ago and I get lots of compliments. I’d been on the hunt for a moto jacket — I’ve tried so many that for one reason or another (big boobs, mostly) don’t work for me — but now I just want to wear this plaid sweater jacket all the time. Here are some other plaid sweater jackets I like.
It got winter cold here for a couple days last week. Luckily, I’d purchased this hat and mitten combo for Joanie a few weeks earlier. They looked so cute, and best of all — they stayed put (and were cheap, too)! (This is the hat Jackson chose for himself when we were at Old Navy a few weeks ago. Somehow with all the promo codes I found, we only paid four bucks for it).
I got a sample of this mascara and I’ve been using it for the last week and my lashes have never looked longer and thicker.
I got a gift box from Vellabox, a subscription candle service that I love and will talk more about later, and included inside was a pumpkin spice candle from Nectar Republic, a small candle-making company based in Kansas. I burn it for an hour or so and our apartment smells delicious for the rest of the day. Love it!
