Wendy’s Weekly Picks

Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 9.36.02 AMWendy’s Weekly Picks” is a feature in which I’ll highlight stuff I like or recommend in the worlds of fashion, gift ideas, home decor, makeup, websites, entertainment, and recipes. Of course, many of the stuff I link to will be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Here are my favorite finds this week.

So many Spring sales! So many promo codes to use and save.

At Saks, use code “FRNFAM” to save 30%. When I can fit into regular clothes again, I want to wear these jeans all the time.

At Anthropologie, use code “EXTRAEXTRA” to save an additional 20% off all sale items. I could totally not get away with wearing this dress. Like, at all. But with 20 5-star reviews, people clearly are and more power to those who can, because the dress is pretty great. Ooh, and I love this duvet which is marked way already plus score an additional 20% off. And how cool are these earrings?

At J.Crew, use code “TIMETOSHOP” to save 30% on your purchase. LOVE these pants.

At LOFT, use code “SHAREIT” TO SAVE 40%. These are super cute for spring. And I’ll never in my life be able to wear a dress like this (it wouldn’t cover a fraction of my big boobs), but it’s so pretty, I wish I could.

At Bloomingdales, use code “SHOP25” TO SAVE $25 on every $100 you spend. These Birks are the perfect summer shoe. And these sunglasses are pretty cute.

And I love these sunglasses, too. Would look super cute on darker complexions, I think.

At Bluefly, use code “Family” to save an extra 20% on your purchase. There are some great kitchen items that would be perfect for wedding gifts, like this Le Creuset 5-piece set, or this awesome knife set, or this saucepan that is seriously the most adorable thing ever and has a lid that even doubles as a trivet. And if you’re designing a nursery right now, check this out. So cute!

Finally, this isn’t on sale, but I had to mention it anyway. A few weeks ago, a friend gave a sample of this tea tree oil nail polish remover and I loved it — the scent, the way it softened my cuticles and easily removed my polish with just one or two swipes. It’s pricey and I probably won’t use it all the time, but it’s nice to have when I want something a little more gentle on my nails and less chemical-smelling than regular polish remover.

I love anything tea tree oil. And, that it actually works sounds great! I hate the post-remover smell with regular polish, and it’s the biggest reason I don’t do my nails regularly. I think I need to invest :_

Wendy! I just bought that LOFT maxi dress. I’m pretty busty too, 36DDD, and it’s actually super flattering. On the model it looks really drape-y, but when you put it on it adjusts around your curves really nicely. On me, the front part of the dress sits up a little higher so not as much of the skinny straps are visible (it goes a little lower in the back if that makes sense). I’ve been wearing it to work with a navy cardi, and while it’s still a v-neck it’s definitely modest enough and I’m not worried about any inappropriate cleavage haha.

See, I was with Wendy in thinking it wouldn’t be very flattering on big boobs. What about a bra? A bra is a MUST for me, so that’s why I ruled this one out. It looks like it hangs a little low on the sides – thus showing a lot of bra. Does it do that on you? I do LOVE this dress and would do just about anything to buy it – except going braless. 🙂

Oh I’m the same way, I never, ever go braless. This dress works fine for me with a strapless bra. The dress doesn’t hang as low on me as it does on the model (probably bc of my boobs holding it up higher lol), so I don’t have any gaping at the armholes for my bra to show through.

Where do you buy your strapless bras? I’m a DD and haven’t found something supportive enough yet that stays on.

I’m also a DD and I found a GREAT strapless bra at Ross of all places…less than $20! It is super supportive and really gives great lift and stays there all day. Gawd I love that thing.

Ooh! Good to know. I’m usually a 34DDD, but my pregnancy boobs are spilling out of all my bras and I need to go get a fitting asap. My bras are so tight I can barely breathe.
