“Wendy’s Weekly Picks,” is a feature in which I’ll highlight stuff I like or recommend in the worlds of fashion, gift ideas, home decor, makeup, websites, entertainment, and recipes. Of course, many of the stuff I link to will be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Here are my favorite finds this week:
Remember when you used to get, like, actual mail in your email, rather than just spam and boring stuff? These days, the only real email messages I get are from my mom and from readers writing in for advice. In lieu of electronic communication with friends and other family, I’m trying to be better about sending snail mail notes and fun notecard sets like these and these and these (so retro!) and these (for the crazy cat ladies among us) make it easier to drop a quick line and let my favorite people know I’m thinking about them. And I love these thank you cards, too!
Macy’s is having a site-wide 25% off sale this week. I like my favorite flats, this dress for a fancy occasion this spring or summer, my favorite eye shadow, this super cute jumpsuit for those who can pull off jumpsuits, a sexy pencil skirt, and the most classic pair of casual sneakers to wear with summer sundresses.
My go-to BB cream was discontinued last year and, just as I was finishing my last tube of it, a friend passed along a sample of this Dr. Jart BB cream (she received it in a BirchBox delivery and it was too light for her) and I love it. It goes on super light and practically melts into the skin for smooth, even, blowy coverage. Sold!
At Old Navy, get 30% off your purchase with code PERKS. For my fellow pregnant ladies, this dress is so comfortable for summer and flattering over or growing belly (I’ve worn it every day it’s been warm enough). And for the non-pregnant, this dress is cute.
Jackson’s $19 umbrella stroller that we bought two years ago finally bit the dust and, since he still needs something for longer walks and since we’re planning ahead for kid #2, we decided to go with an upgrade replacement and ordered this guy. It’s only been two weeks, but I love it. It’s really light — perfect for carrying up and down subway stairs, the bane of any NYC parent’s existence — but it’s a smooth ride (Jackson loves it), it’s super easy to fold and unfold, and the handles are high enough that I don’t have to hunch over when I push it (which was an issue with the old Yankee stroller). Anyway, if you’re in the market for a lightweight stroller, I’d recommend this one for sure, as well as the cheapie that lasted us so long.
