There’s a full moon lunar eclipse tonight — the largest of the 21st century (though not visible in North America), plus mercury retrograde. Don’t be surprised if you’re feeling extra emotional this weekend. After a solo trip away last weekend to see friends, I’m happy to be hunkering down this weekend and trying not to let the cosmic energy affect me too much. Also! Tomorrow is my cat Simone‘s 19th birthday, so it’s going to be a huge celebration around here (by that, I mean we will probably remember around mid-day that it’s her birthday and give her some extra head pats and maybe a CBD treat).
What are you up to this weekend?

I’m counting down the minutes until I can leave work and meet friends for dinner… and an escape room!?! I’ve never been inclined to do this, but what the hell? I’ll enjoy a glass or three of rose beforehand.
Tomorrow, the nephew is staying at our house so the sister and her husband can enjoy an evening out with friends. The nephew ADORES the husband and admittedly I’m a little jealous. WTF kid, I’m your blood? He does love boys though. He prefers papa over gamma. And maybe I’ll just make the husband change his dirty diapers. Hahahahaha. Take that.
Sunday is a me day! The husband leaves early morning for a business trip and I have pilates and grocery shopping and binge watching QE on my agenda. YES!

Happy birthday, Simone! That’s a good, long kitty life so far! 🙂
Tonight, I’m doing dinner with my sister. Tomorrow, brunch and pool day with a friend I haven’t seen in ages. I’m excited to catch up. Sunday, a friend of mine who lives in Madison is supposed to be passing through town on her way home from a wedding. We’re planning to do lunch or dinner, depending on when she leaves Ohio, and she may end up crashing at my place overnight. Since our plans are kind of up in the air as far as timing goes, I’ll be running errands and other boring things until I hear from her.

Ya clearly Mercury is back in retrograde. I’m good but everyone around me is flipping the heck out.

Happy Birthday, Simone!
Stuck at work today, Church tomorrow.
Monday should be fun, though. I’m planning to take my kiddos to the Children’s Discovery Museum, and then to walk around downtown on Fremont Street. They haven’t been there yet, so I’m pretty excited to see their reactions.

Fed up with LA, I am flying off to the family lake cabin in Minnesota today for — I think — three weeks. (Still need to book my return.). Thinking monday the 20th…

I have no idea what we are doing this weekend. So far we have all been lazy today. Husband and I had a few drinks last night and apparently never drinking anymore means three cocktails leaves me hung over. I am getting old. Good grief. I made pasta salad since the husband really likes it for dinner tonight and he is grilling some burgers. I made my In N Out copy cat spread so should be yummy. Our old butts will be watching Live PD tonight and I am doing a little binging on the new season of Orange is the New Black. Last season I got bored so hopefully this one will be good.
Tomorrow some gardening, clean the house a bit and get out of the house. Luckily the weather has been really mild here so we can get outside.
Kid starts school next week so a little more getting ready for that.

Well. Husband and i ate something last night bad. I threw up pretty quickly but he was up until almost 4am in pain. He was sure he’d end up at the hospital. I feel so bad for him. I have a tough husband who other than an occasional headache never complains about not feeling well, but he was basically in a ball near tears. I got a bit more sleep than he did but it looks like another lazy day since he is so tired. Luckily he threw up around 4am and is feeling better. I kept telling him to make himself throw up but he wouldn’t do it. Sometimes you HAVE to get whatever it is out. I am now sanitizing everything and checking all expiration dates and sniff testing everything. I’m going to do a soup in my slow cooker for dinner tonight. Cannot imagine he wants anything heavy to eat.
