With the FBI “investigation” completed and key Republican senators signaling that they will likely vote to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, voting in next month’s midterms has never been more important to save what is left of our tattered democracy and attempt to keep some kind of check on the runaway train wreck of our current administration. For many states, the deadline to register to vote is next week, and for many others it is the following week. If you are not yet registered, please do so now!! You can find out how to do that, as well as check your state’s deadline, here.
But don’t stop there! Reach out to a few people in your life who might not be registered to vote — especially young people, like younger cousins, nieces or nephews, younger siblings, your kids’ college-age babysitters! — and encourage them to register. Tell them how important this election is and how their voices and their votes matter.
PS Join a National Walkout from all work, waged and unwaged, TODAY, October 4 at 4:00 pm to protest the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

You can also give to DCCC’s red to blue effort, and they can choose which campaigns are winnable and could use the resources, ones you’re maybe not even thinking about.

That is, if you trust the party. I do, but I know not everybody is on board with turning money over to the establishment.
And I would say while its definitely not pointless to give Beto money, he is quite well funded. There are definitely other campaigns that are viable that are more in need of cash than his.

Here is the thing regarding to donating Beto is just one candidate and one seat, there are a lot of other seats where your volunteering and money give much more bang for your buck, but aren’t getting the same amount of press. There are so many races which aren’t getting the coverage that Beto is. They need help too.

Yeah, I don’t want to show up and “well actually” anyone’s efforts but Texas is gigantic and is still only one seat. A chunk of that money going to Beto could be flooding the airwaves in close races in MT, ND, IN, NV, TN, etc. *
*Fyodor’s random trivia of the day : a typical Texas *state* senator represents more people than are in North Dakota.

I certainly wasn’t trying to say Beto is the only option out there. If you’re from a secure blue state, a donation to ANY other race trying to turn a seat blue or keep a threatened democratic incumbent would be helpful!

Although I still think getting rid of Ted Cruz is better for everyone. I hate that guy, and would even if I weren’t from Texas. This is probably why many folks upthread are supporting Beto even though they’re not from here…
