I’m looking for a roster of funny, smart, opinionated male contributors for a new feature I’m creating. If you’re a guy — gay or straight — who can answer questions about the way men behave in relationships, I want to hear from you. You’ll need to be able to commit to contributing to the site twice a month. If you’re interested in hearing more, shoot me an email at [email protected] with the words “male contributors” in the subject line. Feel free to forward this to brothers, friends, boyfriends, co-workers — or any guy you know who might be interested in waxing poetic about their gender on a female-centric site.

I know one guy who would probably LOVE to contribute but he is so over the top sexist that it would be the worst column ever. I’ll look forward to reading the responses from average guys 🙂

i know a few guys like that… would make for some heated discussions, but i like the friendly atmosphere here 🙂

hahaha i thought of one friend instantly and then thought of all his inflammatory (but hilarious) blog posts and figured no one else would appreciate it without actually knowing him. lol

Wendy this is a good idea. When reading the blogs, I have always wondered how many of the bloggers were male. What made you think of this?
Wendy February 2, 2011, 4:01 pm
It just seemed like a natural progression for the site. I get a lot of questions that are in the vein of “what do you think he was thinking?” and while I’m pretty good at reading between the lines and analyzing situations, who better to give the male POV than actual males?

That’s why most of my friends/associates are men. I am always interested in both sides of a story, which most of the times are misunderstandings. My girlfriends always tell me their side of a story and I can usually relate to it. But men point of views interest me a lot more because I want to understand how they think and process information. Hopefully one day male and female can bridge the gaps a little bit better. I think your site is going to help us understand each other a little better. Great idea!!

I’ve shared the post on FB so hopefully that pulls some guys in.

Oh I just thought of a good idea. Maybe you already have something set up but I can’t see it, but I think creating a little form similar to this comment (with name, email, body, etc) for people to send you their questions in would be neat.
Wendy February 2, 2011, 6:05 pm
Ok, thanks, I’ll definitely think about that.

@baby.blanka: I’d definitely encourage him to apply. There are a few sample questions to answer prior to being accepted, and I’m sure Wendy will choose people she feels can provide decent advice as well as people who will provide some diversity.

All the men in my life are pretty uh…concise….so I don’t think they’d be very good contributors, but I’m really looking forward to this feature!
_jsw_ February 2, 2011, 8:21 pm
There’s nothing wrong with being concise. 🙂

jsw, would you please, please give this a try! I love reading your comments on the frisky and I think you come off as very even tempered.
and adorable.

I could ask my boyfriend, and then I could rip him a new one anytime he said something I disagreed with! >:)
TheOtherMe2011 February 3, 2011, 10:13 am
I nominate Dennis !!
Tudor Princess February 3, 2011, 12:05 pm
I was going to say _jsw_! Dennis is a good choice, too.
Dennis Hong February 3, 2011, 12:57 pm
Hey, thanks! I’ve sent Wendy an email…. 😉

What about Odog from Frisky.com?
cdj0815 February 3, 2011, 3:12 pm
Wendy I blogged (Odog) him on Frisky under the Dear Wendy: “How Many Sex Partners Is Too Many?” I hope I did not overstep any boundaries?
Wendy February 3, 2011, 3:13 pm
No, that’s fine!
fast eddie February 3, 2011, 7:52 pm
I can’t wait to do this, as I told Wendy my dream job is to be an advise columnist (or sportscaster) but don’t have the required expertize. I’ll just have to settle for being a commenter.
