Donate to the DW Occupy Sandy Drive

Just a reminder that I’m running a DW Occupy Sandy drive. You can Paypal your donations to me at [email protected] until midnight (EST) on Saturday (11/10). I will use our DW collection to buy supplies that Occupy Sandy volunteers will then drive straight to people who need them in the neighborhoods hardest hit by Sandy last week. Occupy Sandy is a grassroots community organization working hard to fill the enormous gaps in aid from the Red Cross and FEMA.

From the Village Voice: “In the eastern reaches of the Rockaways over the weekend, many residents said Occupy Sandy volunteers were the only relief workers they’d seen, the only people to bring them food, clean water, blankets, and information, the only people to ask what they needed and whether they knew of others in even worse shape who required immediate attention.”
