I had to leave the DC meetup early to get home for the hockey game (who am I?) but it was a ton of fun!

haha I didn’t know why you left! I just assumed you had someplace fabulous to be (and lets be real, you and I both agree that at home on a couch is a fabulous place to be). It WAS fun though, albeit a little hot. Maybe we can do another one in the fall?

Christy, guess what, guess what!!! I watched the hockey game on Saturday! From start to finish, all of the innings. Or quarters. Or thirds, whatever. My biggest gripe is why those chiseled faces have to be covered with all the facial hair and helmets and face guard things, you know?

They’re called periods.
And they’re currently covered in facial hair because it’s considered good luck to let your facial hair grow through the playoffs. And they’re wearing helmets because of the serious potential for brain injury (http://abcnews.go.com/Health/blows-head-hockey-long-term-brain-injury/story?id=15172275). And they’re wearing face guards (sometimes!) because they can get pucks to the face )

This meetup was really fun, and it was my 6th we figured out! SIX! That’s awesome, no? The convo turned personal fast, and I’d like to reiterate the rule: whatever happens at a DW meetup stays at the DW meetup! You girls were a lot of fun.
And in case you are wondering:
* cmary was in the lead when she busted out a blanket and utensils and all that shit you’d think the organizer (me) would have remembered to bring;
* but then katie busted out a red wine bottle so clearly she took the lead;
* but then cmary busted out custom-made DW wine glasses, which took the cake;
* but then JillieZ brought actual cake, and it was vegan!
* but then rachel showed up with a dog!
So, it is hard to tell who “won.” It is easier to tell who lost – me and kmen, haha. Except kmen brought wine too, so that’s winning. … Oh forget it, I’m tired of the competition – we all won, ok!?! Except me, I lost, except I kind of won too because I had a great afternoon with all of you.
…
So it has been decided, I won. And so did this Chicago meetup – Yes!! (See how my brain works? I eventually always win.)

I finally got up the nerve to drink white wine (horrors!) in front of Addie pray 🙂 it was summer, a picnic, it was awesome. Such a fun group of ladies and so cool to meet in person.

p.s. I had vegan cake for breakfast. My diet is not going so well. I am re-starting it tomorrow (can’t start a diet in the middle of the day that’s crazy talk)

It was great getting to meet my “Wendy Friends,” as my husband calls you all. When we were back in the car he said, “So, did you know they were all so attractive? I feel like that’s weird for a website group.” Funny. And yes, you’re all lovely. I’m so happy to have met you.
And! And! I was invited to take an online assessment for the interview I had last week- which is I guess considered round 2. Just got an email about it today. The picnic must have been good luck.

guys, i’m sorry i didn’t make it. The minnesota trip turned out to be a complete disaster with all the storms. My flights were delayed and all sorts of other shenanigans.
