Why does sons school think any parents need their kids home for a total of 5 days. ??♀️

JD the school doesn’t think the parents need the kids home. They think the teachers need a respite.

Of course I know that….I see now though why my parents were always dreading summer break while I thought it was the best thing ever. Worse when it is cold so everyone is pent up inside. Told husband if I don’t get out of the house tonight I may lose it. I think we are going to go get her tag made and pick out a collar so we are all ready for Saturday.

I just read that thread. I’m going to be alone this Thanksgiving, and I’ve been homeless. I really wish people wouldn’t just default to “volunteer” for these situations. For me. volunteering on the holidays makes things worse – far too many memories. Learning to be gentle with myself and get through the day using it to celebrate other stuff is what gets me through.
