Wow, if anyone is looking for a book reco, this is pretty fascinating. (BGM, it has a mind-blowing Santa Barbara estate that’s been perfectly preserved since the 1950s). It’s also kind of a real-life mystery, about what happened to this woman and all her money. It’s an insane view into the kind of wealth that used to exist in America before income tax. And omg, the beautiful treasures these people owned, it’s like porn. There are a bunch of pictures too. And it’s written by a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist.
