Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all you American DWers (and happy Thursday to everyone else). This is the first time in about seven or eight years that we won’t be spending the holiday at my father-in-law’s, so it’s a little sad, but, hey, it’s also the first Thanksgiving that we have Joanie with us and that makes things a whole lot sweeter. I have much to be grateful for this year: a healthy and happy family; an easy and joyful baby (oh, trust me, I do not take an easy baby for granted); a loving and supportive spouse; new friends and old friends; an easy and delicious macaroni and cheese recipe; champagne; comfortable jeans; and a good hair stylist, to name a few. I hope you have lots of things to feel grateful for too, and that your holiday is filled with good company, great food, and plenty of rest.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for the fact that my Mom and Aunt are doing all the cooking this year! And I am thankful for my daughter, this is her first Thanksgiving! Too bad she is too young to eat the food! ?

    I’ve got to say what I’m thankful at my friend’s party tomorrow.. I think I went sappy last time, what funny thing should I be thankful for? Hmmm….

        I love this recipe! I cook lowcarb due to blood sugar issues and this is a great way to make a cheese sauce!!! It uses cottage cheese instead of making a roux with flour. I’m already planning things I can do with this cheese sauce.

        Pureed pumpkin/squash can be used instead of a roux too – and it sneaks in veggies for little ones (or big ones too)

    Happy Thanksgiving! Even though ours was in October, I’m thankful that my FIL called out of the blue yesterday to see if they could take my daughter for the weekend (personally I think they’re crazy – having a 9 year old and two 1 1/2 year olds sleepover this weekend). It’s only the 2nd time I’ll have spent the night away from her and I can’t wait to sleep in on Saturday! I hope everyone enjoys all of your pie today 🙂

    I fell asleep BEFORE eating turkey (how does that happen!?), so I got a late start cooking. I am single, so no harm done. Lots of good food, good music, champagne and phone calls to the special people in my life – much to be thankful for. I hope everyone else’s day went well.

    Earlier this week, I made my final preparations for the holiday apocalypse – stocking up on everything so the only reason that I will have to venture out shopping before the first of the year is for perishable foods. I really do like the holiday season :), I just don’t like dealing with the retail madness :(.
