In a weekend open thread a couple weeks ago, I asked you all to introduce yourselves and share a little about who you are and what makes you tick. The response was so overwhelming — and interesting to read — I thought we’d make a regular column out of it. So, beginning this month, I’ll post a “Reader of the Week” column once a week, highlighting one DW reader. Want to share a little about yourself with other readers? Email me at wendy@dearwendy.com with the phrase “Reader of the Week” in the subject line and I’ll send you a few questions to answer. Can’t wait to learn more about you!

This is a fantastic idea! The open thread was extremely popular. I came in late to it because I worked all that weekend, but I loved reading through it all.

I missed it too (because I got married that weekend)!! I was bummed to miss it, and got overwhelmed trying to read it all later… Maybe I’ll give it another shot though.

Well, how could you let a little thing like “your wedding” get in the way of keeping up with the site ? ? Shame on you !! ( <—-insert sarcastic font here )
Congratulations !! xox

Thanks!

Congratulations! What, DW wasn’t your top priority during your wedding weekend? 🙂
Elizabeth October 5, 2011, 12:31 pm
maybe she WAS thinking about DW.. Perhaps she had a belligerent guest that she needs to ask us advice on ?
honeybeenicki October 5, 2011, 12:50 pm
Very possible. Maybe there should be an emergency DW website/email/hotline?

omg, I would have LOVED to have had a DW distraction during my wedding weekend… I mentioned my wedding situation on here a few times, so I’m not going to detail it all over again, but the short version is that literally every single thing that could have gone wrong went wrong and I had a full mental breakdown the morning of my wedding. A DW break was very much needed!!
Elizabeth October 5, 2011, 11:13 pm
Ah! so sorry to hear that. But now you’re married! To an awesome dude who hopefully wasn’t part of your wedding day drama!
Eljay October 5, 2011, 11:52 am
Awesome idea!!!

Rather than email – I’ll put it right out there: I’m hormonal as all hell right now. I had to stop taking my birth control pills so I could have some testing done, and oh my Goddess, I am so not enjoying this rollercoaster.
va-in-ny October 5, 2011, 2:49 pm
Oh geez! I know what you’re going through! I switched birth control pills once and went on a hormonal rager unlike any other. That roller coaster was insane! It was also the same week the boyfriend went on a family vacation so people thought it was because he was away. People thinking I was a lame-o for being upset about that put me in even more of a hormonal pit!
You’ll get back to normal soon!
