The holidays are upon us and I am fast at work on this year’s gift guides. (Ok, full disclosure: I’ve been so busy with the move that I’ve barely just started on the gift guides, but I still hope to be done by the first week of December). I thought this year it would be fun to have a gift guide 100% contributed by the men of DW with their ideas for all the men in our lives (boyfriends, husbands, brothers, friends, etc.). So, men of DW, I need your help! If you’d like to contribute a few ideas (even just one is great), please send the name of the product, a link, and what you like about it (bonus: if you can suggest what kind of guy the product would be good for, that would be cool) with the subject link “MEN’S GIFT IDEAS” to me at [email protected]. Oh, and if you want to include your DW commenter name, please do, so people can see who recommended what. Thank you! I can’t wait to see your suggestions!!
P.S. Women of DW can send ideas, too, but I will probably include them in the regular men’s gift guides. Please let me know if you’d like to be attributed for your recommendations. (I’d do a simple, “Recommended by DW reader, Cassie,” for example).

Oh my gosh yes. I need this for NG this year. I asked him what he wanted and said he wanted clothes. I’m good at shopping for clothes for dudes…and he really DOES need nice clothes considering he’ll (finally) be in corporate America in like 6 months. But that’s boring. I want something that represents our special love!!! (kidding about the special love…maybe…)

Here are two awesome gift ideas for men in your life. I have done both of these to awesome reviews- think bragging to his friends and colleagues awesome
1. Set of 4,8 or 12 tumblers – I bought the Ralph lauren Aston collection and an excellent bottle of scotch. Can also get the matching decanter if you want to up the gift.
2. BBq tool case from Williams Sonoma and then get it engraved with his initials – it came with like 5 really nice tools and a sleek silver case. Add high end bbq sauces and rubs and maybe either a grill cookbook or a one month supply of those meat baskets where they send you different cuts of meat to try.

Another gift is cashmere wool scarf, matching hat and really nice leather gloves with one of those touch pad fingers so he can use his phone – all from high end men’s shop. You could also just do one of these items, like the gloves or scarf, if you just started dating or want to spend less money. And then start building him a set – like scarf at Christmas with a bottle of whiskey or scotch and a good book and then gloves the next year or on the birthday if it’s in winter, and throw in a beer of the month thing.

The LW doesn’t say anything about his new wife or her relationship with his family. I’m guessing that there is something there – they don’t like her for some reason. He will probably find this happening more and more if they genuinely don’t want to spend time with her. I think he needs to get to the bottom of it; notice how it’s his wife that pressed the issue initially. I hope that they can find some common ground or he may find himself cut off from the family for a long time.
