Good news — I think I’ve finally found a mobile-friendly version of DW that I like pretty well. Those of you reading the site on a smart phone should be able to see the mobile version now. If you’re on an iPhone, the first time you view the site you should get a prompt letting you know you can save this website as a web app icon on your home screen. Then, in the future, when you tap on the app icon, it it will load the mobile version of DW. To access the navigation menu (and get to the forums), simply click the menu icon (the three horizontal lines) in the top right corner of the screen.
It’s not perfect, but I think it’s as close as we’re going to get for now — and the text should be bigger/easier to read which is the most important part. Also, it still looks pretty, so there’s that too. And if you prefer the desktop version, just go to the bottom of your screen and click the tab that days “desktop version.”
Hopefully, this will make it easier and more enjoyable to browse DW while on the go!

Looks awesome, and should help a lot since my internet usage at work is slowly change, and when I move to my new office building is pretty much going to be cut down to nothing!

I’m on a smaller tablet. Is there a way to switch to the mobile version from the desktop site?
Dear Wendy January 27, 2014, 2:31 pm
Hmm, I’m not sure. I will have to look into that. What kind of tablet are you on?

I have a Kindle Fire. I think it’s 7″. I can rotate the screen and read here fine, but if I want to keep it vertical (which is what I prefer) – even with the screen shrunk down as far as I can get it – the words run off the screen.

I’m sorry, there doesn’t seem to be a quick fix for that, but I will keep my ears open and keep looking.
