This week, in addition to getting a brand-spanking-new mobile version of the site, which looks pretty good if I do say so myself, we also have brand new comment thumbs. As most of you noticed, the old thumbs lost their functionality once the comments on a thread went over around 150 or so, which is a lot of the time. And what good are comment thumbs if they only work half the time? No good. Soo… I found some new thumbs and these should actually work all the time. The catch is, there are now thumbs up and thumbs down (with this plugin, I am not able to use just the thumbs up feature). We had that once before, when the site was still an infant, and it went … eh, just so-so. But I think we’ve weeded out a lot of the Negative Nancies from way back when, and I’m hoping we will all be respectful and not thumb-down people’s comments all willy-nilly just because we can. Let’s be grown-ups! Respectful — that’s all I’m askin’. Can we handle it? I know Addie Pray is already freaking out because she’s allergic to change. It’s ok, Addie. We’ll get through this. In a few days, it won’t be so new and scary, I promise!
