As this post goes live, I will be on my way to the airport to catch an overnight flight to London. As I mentioned earlier, Drew is there covering the royal wedding and I’m going to join him so that when he’s done with work in a couple days, we can take a European vacation. We’ll be in London until May 8th, joined by my parents, who live in Germany, next week so we can celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday in style. I’m looking forward to it.
On the 8th, we’ll say good-bye to my parents as they head back home and we take off for Paris(!). We’ll have four lovely days in the City of Lights before heading back to NYC on the 12th. Since this will be one of the last vacations we’ll have before we become responsible for a tiny human being — certainly the last long one — I’m going to do my best to soak it all up. That means I probably won’t be spending much time online. Comment moderation will be slower than usual (first-time commenters always have to be approved before they’re published), and I won’t be returning emails — or probably even reading them — until I get home.
But don’t worry; I have a lot of content scheduled from now until I get back. Some of it will be re-runs of my more popular columns (published both here and on The Frisky), but a lot of it will be brand new content. And I have a couple of fun guest columnists lined up you’ll want to be sure to check out, too. Anyway, I’ll miss you guys while I’m away, but I think I’ll come back renewed and refreshed, which can only make the site better. Play nice while I’m gone, and I’ll see you in Mid-May! xox
