Rally For Abortion Rights

Like many of you, I’ve been outraged since learning about the Supreme Court’s plan to overturn Roe V. Wade this summer, making abortion illegal in 26 states. The Republicans have also made clear that a federal abortion ban is not off the table should they win power in congress. Every person capable of getting pregnant deserves autonomy over their body and the agency to decide whether and when to have a baby and to become a parent. Every person with a uterus deserves basic healthcare – access to lifesaving treatments – without the threat of criminalization. Any person impregnated as a result of rape must have full control of any choice related to that pregnancy. If you’re as outraged as I am that any of this is even debatable, please consider raising your voice at the women’s march on Saturday the 14th.
(Find a rally near you.). And here are a list of places to donate to in support of abortion access.

My parents are marching tomorrow at the Orleans rotary on cape cod. My dad told me decades ago how pro-lifers just want to keep women, poor people, and minorities in their place. I think it’s a way to keep slavery alive.

    It is.

And this in a country so great, we have like 45 different kinds of pop tarts but not enough formula to feed the kids that people have had willingly. It’s a world that makes no sense. Capitalism gone wrong.

It’s really sad to share this, but I know a number of women who have had technically abortions because their babies died in utero. Like I just do not understand what this is all about. It’s just cruelty.

I feel like every angry old white male republican is just trying to grasp onto whatever power they can by whatever means necessary to keep this country with white Christians ruling the majority. Colonialism 2022. Women and non whites to the back. We’re non people, just breeders.

And like what, would those women be charged with murder? For having a baby die in utero? Aside from that, you wouldn’t be able to have a procedure to remove the fetus if it didn’t come out on its own. Then you’d die too. WHAT THE FUCK evangelical psychos.

And don’t forget all the ectopic pregnancies that are going to kill women because uneducated lawmakers think you can just re-implant them in the uterus.

Yeah, exactly. Like they have they worst grief still. A life sentence for very wanted babies, but the GOP would have these mothers be in jail leaving more kids motherless because…justice?

It’s was fun to yell a lot this morning. My voice is a good hoarse.

I yelled myself hoarse on Saturday, too! We had a good turnout in Phoenix — it was heartening.

I’m just sick with fury, too. And scared. My husband is left-leaning, definitely not conservative, but not really up on political shit post-trump, so he sort of stunned me when he said out of the blue, post-leak: “Let’s leave the country.” He said I shouldn’t have to work and pay taxes and support a government who looks on me as a not full person. He’s not wrong.

I don’t know what to do now. I live in blue or semi-blue dots in ruby red country. I’ve ordered a multi-pack of plan b (and have let friends with daughters, nieces, other friends, etc. know) and I can relocate in the US, but I’m afraid it’s not gonna make much of a difference soon.
