There was such an overwhelming response when I asked readers to introduce themselves on a weekend open thread that I decided to give you all a weekly column to do just that. I’ve always said this site wouldn’t be what it is without the engagement and participation of its readers and this column is the place to learn more about who you are what makes you tick. After the jump, let’s meet LennyBee.
1. What’s your name, age and whereabouts?
My name is Bridget, I post as LennyBee. I’m 28 years old, and a Canadian ex-pat currently living in Colorado.
2. What’s your relationship status?
Joined at the hip with a wonderful man.
3. How do you spend your weekdays?
As a PhD student, I spend my days locked in a dark, cold office, reading, writing, planning studies, and analyzing. I also teach classes periodically. Sometimes I go home early to spend more time with my cats.
4. How do you spend your free time?
I love to cook – my boyfriend and I often cook together and try out new recipes, go to festivals, hang out on the couch and watch TV (crime shows and comedies), try new restaurants, host dinner parties, and read trashy romance novels (the trashier the better).
5. What are your top likes and dislikes?
Likes: Fall – the colours, the foods, the apple and pumpkin picking, the crispness in the air, and bundling up with a hot drink.
Dislikes: Condiments, and the fact that I can’t eat whatever I want without gaining weight.
6. What’s the best relationship advice you’ve ever been given?
My long-married aunts and grandmother once told me that the secret to a long and happy marriage is to really like the person you’re with. Love is great, but genuinely liking your spouse will get you through rough patches.
7. What’s the best relationship lesson you’ve ever learned?
He is not a mind reader, and neither am I. Thus, it’s always better to ask if you don’t know, or are unsure.
8. Besides DearWendy.com, what are some of your favorite websites?
Dear Prudence and Miss Manners, Cracked.com.

i know i can’t eat anything without some sort of condiment or sauce. everyone thinks i’m crazy but i can’t handle if something is too dry.

Nice to meet you Bridget! I also greatly dislike the fact that I can’t eat food without gaining weight…especially since I have a sister who can eat whatever she wants whenever she wants and has never weighed more than 125. And I love the word ‘colours.’ Sometimes I am sad that I can’t put a u in those words because I’m American.

Oh darn! I was in the mountains vacationing without internet for the week and I missed it!
Nice to meet you all too!
