Reader of the Week: Meet Michelle

There was such an overwhelming response when I asked readers to introduce themselves on a weekend open thread that I decided to give you all a weekly column to do just that. I’ve always said this site wouldn’t be what it is without the engagement and participation of its readers and this column is the place to learn more about who you are what makes you tick. After the jump, lets meet Michelle.

 

1. What’s your name, age and whereabouts?

I just use my first name ‘Michelle’ for posts. 🙂 I’m 34-years-old and am an American who is now located in Calgary, AB

2. What’s your relationship status?

Engaged, headed for my second go-round. Quite a story there, but not sure if I want to attach my picture to said story, ha!

3. How do you spend your weekdays?

I’m a Security Projects Coordinator for a commercial/security printer.

4. How do you spend your free time?

I like to play online games (Rift, WoW) with my fiancé, as well as watch what is probably a bit too much TV on Netflix, archery target shooting, and crochet blankets. I’m a very odd mix of a nerdy grandma. Even though I haven’t hit 35 yet!

5. What are your top likes and dislikes?

Hmmmm.. Starting with dislikes, the top is definitely people who are ignorant but choose to not remedy their situation.

Likes? Interesting discussions with my step-kids who are both under 8. I could go on and on here, but I’m not sure how much space you really want to give me… I have a tendency to rant…

6. What’s the best relationship advice you’ve ever been given?

You cannot change who the other person is. If you choose to stay with them, they are who they are and you’re accepting that.

7. What’s the best relationship lesson you’ve ever learned?

That while I can accept that my partner isn’t going to change, it is not always the best idea to change myself to compensate for his lack of change.

8. Besides DearWendy.com, what are some of your favorite websites?

I frequent TheFrisky.com quite a lot, which is where I discovered DearWendy! I tend towards funny websites such as notalwaysright.com and www.tastefullyoffensive.com. I also have a love/hate relationship with etsy.com; I cannot seem to stay away!
