Reader Recs: Andrea’s Faves

IMG_03701Dear Wendy readers are some of the most intelligent, stylish, super-cool people around (it’s a proven fact), so it’s a no-brainer to feature some of their favorite products. Many of the recommended products happen to be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Today’s recommendations come from Andrea, a longtime lurker, who is a 32-year-old bartender, student, and Coast Guard reservist living in New Orleans. She lives in an adorably ramshackle old apartment building with her three cats, and she is enjoying the hell out of dating. She also enjoys gardening on her balcony, reading, and wandering around in graveyards. Here are some of Andrea’s favorite products:

Supergoop!
I am a cheapskate, so I balked at spending this much on a sunscreen, until I realized it wasn’t slimy, it’s smooth, it smells great, and it goes on well under my makeup. Bonus is that it doesn’t make me break out because it doesn’t have titanium dioxide.

Everyday Minerals Makeup
Speaking of makeup, this is my go-to base. It’s made by a small company in Texas and has the perfect shade for my super fair skin. You can order samples whenever you want as long as you pay for shipping. I have been loyal to these lovelies for years, and I am excited to see that they are available in my Whole Foods now!

Cat Dancer
THE GREATEST CAT TOY OF ALL TIME. Whoever invented this is a genius, as it’s silent and made of cardboard and wire. My cats fight over who gets to play with it, and the toy keeps them busy for hours.

Homodox Insulated Stainless Steel H2O Bottle
I got this through a sale on Amazon and am super glad I did. I plow through a lot of water in the summer due to the heat, and this bottle keeps my water cold and is big enough to hold enough to get me through a few hours of errands or work.

Timbuk2 Purse
I got this when I was headed to Europe for six weeks, and I have used the hell out of it since I returned. So many pockets! Cheap! Washable! This company makes professional messenger bags, so the stitching is strong and the pockets are plentiful.

Thanks, Andrea!

Cat Dancer!!!! My cat Tawny (RIP 🙁 ) used to LOVE that thing. He loved it so much that he knew the sound of us opening the drawer where it was kept, and he would run to the drawer.

I’ve had one backpack for almost 10 years now and I’m 90% sure it’s made by Timbuk2. I know so many people that swear by their messenger bags.
