Reader Recs: CurlyQue’s Picks

picDear Wendy readers are some of the most intelligent, stylish, super cool people around (it’s a proven fact), so it’s a no-brainer to feature some of their favorite products. Many of the recommended products happen to be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Today’s recommendations comes from CurlyQue, who currently lives in Vancouver, WA (right across the bridge from Portland OR) with her boyfriend of 3-1/2 years and their two lovely cats (Booty and Trouble). She is a voracious reader of all genres, and her favorite Portland activity is browsing Powells for hours and then going to Cacao to sip their rich drinking chocolate while watching the rain fall. She is also only slightly addicted to W.O.W. (World of Warcraft) and Dear Wendy (of course). Keep reading for some of her favorite products.

Totes are such great carry-all bags, and I love these literary themed ones on Modcloth. I own this one as well as the Great Gatsby one and have used them for my bookbag for school and even as a purse several times.

71vwQnawJ4L._SL1000_2. Munchkin Deluxe
My family and I have become obsessed with Munchkin (which we first saw on Wil Wheaton’s Table Top series) and now own the majority of variations. The Deluxe version includes the board (which you don’t get in any other set) and some playing pieces (all male). I also recommend getting the Unnatural Axe set from Barnes and Nobles to get the female playing pieces. Be warned you become passionately irritated during this game towards friends and family.

19510023. Ulta automatic eye eyeliner in Moss
I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I usually will have some eyeliner on my bottom lid, and I really enjoy Ulta’s automatic eyeliner. Their eyeliner comes in a multitude of colors and is often on sale for $5.

51AEj3F1BdL._SL1000_4. Teavana Tea Tumbler
My brother’s girlfriend turned me onto this tumbler from Teavana and I use it all the time during the colder months (I’m currently drinking out of it as I write this). It keeps my drink hot for HOURS and is super cute. It also doesn’t need to be used for just tea, though it does include a great removable basket for the tea leaves. Another side note is that it is basically leak proof, so I don’t have to worry about any messes when I throw it in my purse or car.

il_570xN.638541217_5fvw5. Medusa Jewelry Designs (my own etsy shop)
This is my own shop, and I sell jewelry made from vintage and/or natural materials. My favorite pieces are the rings made from vintage marbles because they are all unique and each makes for a very eclectic piece of jewelry. Dear Wendy readers can enjoy 20% off their purchases at my etsy shop with code DW2014. It is good through Jan 1st.

If you have some products you’d like to recommend to the DW audience, shoot me an email at wendy@dearwendy.com with links to five recommendations. (Write “reader recs” in the subject line, please). Your recommendations can be from any store or website, but they need to be accessible online — and I would love it if at least two items could be found on Amazon where I am an affiliate. If your list is a good fit for the site, I’ll ask you to write a brief description of each item/explain what you love so much about it.

It really is a great game, just be prepared for how attached you’ll get playing! My brothers, bf and dad and I will play and since some of the cards can be interpreted differently it’s definitely caused some disagreements. …Oh and don’t give up if the first game isn’t the most fun, it takes a couple games to get a real hang of it.

I love that literary tote! Might be time for a new bag… And your stay stuff is also really cute. I love marbles – my dad used to have a ton of vintage ones from his childhood so I used them in a few art projects.
