Some out-of-town DW readers will be in NYC, which is a perfect excuse for a meet-up. Let’s keep it centrally-located and after work so more people can make it. (The picture above is from the an NYC meetup this past fall).
When: Friday, March 20
Time: 6 PM for drinks, 7 PM for dinner
Where: Let’s start at House of Brews at 302 W 51st St (just off 8th ave.). It’s a cliche sports bar, but it’s nice and central and close to lots of restaurants and roomy enough that it shouldn’t be overly crowded on a Friday evening. Plus, lots of beers. Around 7, once everyone’s arrived, we can make our way to El Centro for dinner. It’s just a few blocks away at 824 9th Ave (at 54th).
Since the forums are down and I’m not sure when/if they will be fixed, let’s use this thread to touch base with each other if we need to as the meetup time approaches.

Ahhh, look at those gorgeous dearwendiers from the NYC meetup last fall. No offense, but there is NO WAY you guys will have a meetup as awesome as that one was. It’s just not possible. But you should try! Winner gets…. something to be determined by me when the winner is decided.

Only those who attended the fall meetup *and* the upcoming meetup get to decide. And you should consider the following factors: number of attendees; number of attendees who get drunk; whether juicy confessions were made and just how juicy were they; how many lurkers showed up; how many people from out of town showed up; and if Addie Pray was there. And then the fall meetup should get extra points for being disadvantaged for now knowing these factors ahead of time.

What the fuck, dudes — it’s going to be SNOWING (again!) tomorrow evening. I hope that doesn’t deter anyone who was planning to come from coming. I will still be there. I’ll just have to dig out my snow boots from the back of the closet where I swore they would stay until December, argghhhh.

I made a reservation for us at House of Brews at 6. The restaurant, El Centro, doesn’t take reservations, but if we get there and find we can’t get a seat, there are plenty of other options nearby.
